Valentine’s Day doesn’t stop the RCPB guys from Racing! Lots of racing, lots of places, lots of good results! At a sunny Deerdale we had Rick “Kong” McKenzie debuting his MBX7R powered by his new RC Concepts engine. And it was a very good start with the new ride. This last weekend saw an abundance of racing for the RCPB Crew, with racing Friday, Saturday and Sunday! It all kicked off on Friday Evening with the first of the ESBRC indoor club nights in Shrewsbury. Team Boss Matt Box took his old XRAY 4wd along (pictured below) and ended up with a great TQ and win. This weekend was a mixture of 1/10th and 1/8th racing for the Team, firstly it was the 2dn Round of the SWIS (Shropshire, Winter, Indoor Series) at the Grange School Shrewsbury, although not a permanent track, still a very technical track which saw 1/10th 2wd, 4wd and Micro heat. RCPB was represented by Team Bosses Chris Ely and Matt Box in 4wd, and after some hotly contested qualifying rounds the guys lined up one and two in the A final, with Chris just ahead of Matt. This weekend saw the Popular Nitro X Cross Winter series at the Ledbury Astro Track. Although there was persistent rain all week, Nathan Powney and the crew did a fantastic job of getting the track in a race-able condition and even entertained the campers with fireworks on the Saturday evening. The Day started with a moments silence for remembrance Sunday – a nice touch and ended with a Bang! (Quite Literally.) This weekend was the start of many different winter series all over the uk, inside and out, 1/8th and 1/10th and Team RCPB was represented up and down the UK. In 1/10th and At the SWIS (Shropshire Winter Indoor Series) held by East Shrewsbury Buggy Racing Club Team RCPB made a double podium with Chris Ely and his serpent making 2nd and Matt Box and his Xray making 3rd in the 4wd drive class, both tq’ing one round each.  Some very close, competitive racing by the RCPB team bosses.
