E Buggy/Truggy Nats and much more for RCPB

Posted by Jules exall on

This weekend RCPB were her there and everywhere for a big and very productive weekend of racing.

Down in Kent we had Gary Gregory and Alex Page running in their 1/8th winter series on their awesome Dirt track. And they had a very good day, both qualifying very high up, Gary 10th overall and Alex 5th overall in a very strong field of drivers. There cars pictured below,

Gary running his new RR8 V2 had a cracking race in the final even after a cut on the first lap, he clawed it back and finished a very fine 7th place, Alex and his Bullett  powered MP9 spent most of the race running in the top 4 but had an issue and dropped down the field to 10th at the buzzer, both RCPB guys showed great pace in the final and got some well needed dirt practice – great job guys!

At ADUR we had new boy Ashley Evans running his Techno Short course in 4wd and his Mugen MBX7r Eco in Ebuggy. And he had a hell of a day – he Tq’d both classes and managed to pull off the win in both as well. An amazing “Double TQ and Win!” He is pictured below with his great looking cars.

At Telford in the MAMS we had Felix de Hamel running his Schumacher 2wd at Telfords outdoor track. He also had a fantastic day qualifying 9th in the 2wd A final, and a great drive put him in a decent position but unfortunately a issue with a tyre meant he struggled to hold on and finished in 10th, still a very good result for this young man.

At Swindon we had Rich Price and his XRAY and Simon Davies running his Radiosistemi RR8. Rich was in fine form – managing a place at the top of the A final with a very decent pole in the A final – and he took advantage and had a great race – out in front until the last lap eventually finishing 2nd. A great final and a great drive from Rich!

4 of the RC Pitbox team headed off to a sunny Deerdale track for Round 1 of the Ebuggy Nationals.  First to head out on the track was Chris Lovell with his Mugen MBX7R Eco.  Chris had a steady qualifying placing in 22nd and starting the finals 2nd in the C.  Next we had the Xray of Chris Ely and Steve Ibbotson with his Losi.  Both drivers had some misfortune in qualifying in 49th and 43rd respectively placing them in the E final.  Finally Milan Dragojlovic and his Kyosho MP9e brought it home in 15th and a place in the B final.

Chris pictured below on the rostrum during qualifying.

So onto the finals and the sun had gone in and had started to get chilly.  Up first the E Final.  'Ibbo' started off in third with Chris Ely 9th.  Unfortunately the bad luck of Steve continued having to retire without completing a lap. Chris had a good start and despite some problems during the race guided his Xray into fourth and a bump up into the D final.  Chris then went on to finish 10th in the D.

Chris Lovell up next.  Having qualified 2nd in the C he had hopes of pushing for a bump up into the B final.  His Mugen had felt great all day.  Unfortunately it wasn't to be bringing his car home in 10th.

Lastly we had Milan starting 5th in the B.  Milan finished the B in third place giving him a bump up into the ebuggy A main!  Milan then showed what a good driver he is by powering through a very talented field finishing 7th.

And finally we have Tommy Hall at the Bradbury Cup, he was really pleased with his XRAY XB2 and on his first run outdoors with it, and he made the A final at a very competetive Bradby Cup, finishing an amazing 8th and he Won top U1 - pictured below.

All of the kit the guys use is available through us so check out the website or visit us this weekend at the NEO race....EAT<SLEEP<RACE<REPEAT
