Winter Racing with the RCPB team.

Posted by Jules exall on

This weekend was the start of many different winter series all over the uk, inside and out, 1/8th and 1/10th and Team RCPB was represented up and down the UK.

In 1/10th and At the SWIS (Shropshire Winter Indoor Series) held by East Shrewsbury Buggy Racing Club Team RCPB made a double podium with Chris Ely and his serpent making 2nd and Matt Box and his Xray making 3rd in the 4wd drive class, both tq’ing one round each.  Some very close, competitive racing by the RCPB team bosses. It’s going to be a interesting series if they keep it up.  Rick “kong” Mckenzie took the win after a close fought final with the RCPB guys.

Also running 1/10th but at Maritime Raceway in the first round of their winter series was George Miller, who ended up 5th in the C in a huge line up of top drivers. Jack Embling taking the Tq and the win with his new ride -  Kyosho RB6 powered by Reds electrics.

In 1/8th at Frankley Model Car Club Track the team were represented by Chris Lovell (ebuggy), Simon Davies,  Shaun Stenson, Ben Billing and Andy Prosser.  Chris took 3rd in the E Buggy class and another podium for his Kyosho MP9e. Simon Davies finishing 6th in the B, and Andy ending up 8th in the C after some bad luck with a body clip taking him out of a bump up place. Shaun and Ben both made the A Final and Ben finish top of the RCPB pile with a 4th with his Sworks Evo 2/Nova Rossi Combo and Shaun ending up 9th. Top driving gents, Ben only being edged out of a podium place by fellow Sworks new boy Chris Leighton and top UK Drivers Ash Owen and Simon Willetts who went on and took the Tq and win.

Down in Herts for the first round of their winter series on the Dirt, was Alex Page, Gary Gregory and Milan Dragojlovic. Alex and Gary competing on similar times all day ended up 14th and 10th in the C final and a great drive by Milan with his Kyosho Mp9/Bullett combo to go on and take 6th in the A final, competing with some of the top UK Nitro drivers. Great days racing had by all at one of the best tracks in the country.

Well done to all our drivers and all the guys who drove along side them, there is a lot more racing next weekend where a big bunch of the crew will be found at round one of the Ledbury Winter series.
