E Buggy Nats Round 2 Plus More from RCPB

Posted by Jules exall on

Sunday 24th April 2016 saw Round 2 of the EBuggy National Series held at Kent.  RC-Pitbox were out in numbers again with five drivers – Ashley Evans, Chris Lovell, Gary Gregory, George Miller an Steve Ibbotson.

It’s fair to say that the time had mixed results in their qualifying sessions. The Kent track is technical and can catch you out if you drop focus or get unlucky.  They all came through qualifying with cars in tact and ready for the finals.  The overall qualifying results are below.

First up we had Gary Gregory in the E Final. Gary drove super smooth with his converted RR8 bringing it home in 2nd spot and a bump up.

Next was Gary (again) and Ashley Evans. Gary had a super start going from 12th up to 3rd.  Unfortunately his race was cut short due to a lipo issue but Ashley – using his Mugen MBX7R Eco cruised into 3rd spot and a bump up.

Next was the final of finals – the C final! This final had four of the five representatives in it.  Steve with his TLR 4.0e starting 2nd, Chris and his Mugen MBX7R Eco 8th, George and his Sworkz 10th and Ashley from 13th.  This was a hectic race which eventually saw Steve bump up to the B – finishing in third.  Chris missed the bump up by 2 seconds, finishing in fifth after an altercation with a marshall’s foot.  George and Ashley finishing 11th and 8th respectively.

After Steve had bumped up to the B, he knew he had pace. Unfortunately a shock issue prevented any further progression finishing in 12th. Well done guys - the next ebuggy national is @herts in a few weeks, where they guys will be back to ebuggy action! Pictured below Ashley with his car and all the other RCPB cars at Kent! Top right is Steves, Middle right is Chris's, Bottom right is George's, middle bottom is Gary's.

Elsewhere we had some more 1/8th racing @ Ledbury with Andy Prosser, Simon and Simeon White, Simon Davies and Ben Billing. All the guys know the track and it showed with all of them in the top 12. Andy made a great 12th, Simon Davies 8th and Simeon White 9th respectively, Simon White had a blinding qualifying and eventually eneded up 4th for Si and his Mugen MBx7r and 2nd by less than a second was Ben Billing and his very impressive looking Sworks/Nova Rossi Combo.

All drivers would be in the top 2 finals but up first was Simeon, Andy and Simon Davies. Andy had an unfortunate issue early on which meant he had to retire but Simon an Simeon were going to battle to the line. Simeon managed to pull out a small lead from Simon and the young man went on to take a massive win, bumping up into a very competitive A final for the very first time. Simon finished an impressive 2nd with his Radiosistemi RR8.

So onto the A final and Simon and Simeon White and their Mugen's, and Ben with his Sworkz were going for it. Simeon was getting faster and pushed for the whole 20min final, he gained 2 great places and finished 6th! a very impressive drive by another RCPB young gun! Ahead his Dad battled to a fine 4th place but Ben got the overtake done and took the win in fine style, by over 20seconds. Another great win for Ben and RCPB.

as always the guys use cars/kit and fuel etc all available through RCPB. Check out the website and if you cant find what you need let us know.

EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!
