The day started out dry with a field of 46 drivers and Mini Pins were the order of the day on their Astro Track. This being the last round of the series with 4 rounds to count required to complete the series the championship was alive right until the end of the day’s finals, and it would certainly be a battle until the end!
In Qualifying HB/Bullet Combo driver Nathan Powney took overall TQ with a TQ in rounds 3 and 4 ahead of Ben Billing and his MX powered Kyosho 2nd with a TQ in rounds 1 and 2 and TLR’s Chris Leighton would line up 3rd.
The Finals were all 15 minutes and we saw some great battles on track, the E Final was taken by Jnr driver Ethan Abbott for the bump up ahead of AE man Darren Crutchley. In the D Final we saw the Mugen of Clinton Dredge and the Kyosho of Aaron Knight with the bump ups. In the C final it was Colin Court taking the win and also bumping up through the B Final to make it into the A Main but just ahead of him was Huw Jenkins taking the win with his newly built TLR 4.0.
Onto the A final and the decider of the series! With Nathan Taking TQ he would have to win and Chris take a poor score for him to win the series, unfortunately for Nathan upon taking to the start he had a fault with the clutch and started from the pit lane, he went onto get all the way upto to fight for 3rd in the final only to retire with clutch failure. This gave Chris Leighton and Ben Billing a fair fight ahead with Chris leading towards the end only to fall short on fuel on the remaining Lap leaving Ben Billing to the win, Agama man Rob West in 2nd and Chris finishing up in 3rd. Great racing by all the guys in the finals, and a thrilling end to the A main!
With the 3rd place finish of Chris Leighton he had enough points to clinch the series win with Nathan Powney finishing 2nd overall and Stuart Harlow 3rd.
Thank-you for the great level of attendance throughout this wet season of racing over the winter months! Hope you all had a great Series!
With a dry forecast most of the team arrived with a dry set up but after a quick track inspection we soon realised that this wouldnt be the case. At least not to start with so it was back to a wet set up for round 1.
The Nene Valley crew had been working hard improving the track:
So into round 1 and Milan Dragojlovic was quick to lay down a marker setting TQ for the round with his Maxima powered HB D815 closely followed by his HB/Maxima/Hipex team mate Graham Alsop. Matt Box would be the next RCPB driver with a 5th in round with his SpeedBull Soar Seiki, Chris Lovell running his Soar E buggy in the mixed class would grab 9th in round. Gary Gregory running his new Maxima B4 engine in his sweet looking Kyosho TKI4 would come home 14th in round, Simon Davies' Soar Seiki 37th, Andy Prosser also driving Soar Seiki 46th and Elliot Jones Kyosho suffered an incident in the warm up resulting in a DNS for round 1.
In round 2 Milan would take TQ once again from Graham in 2nd, Gary Gregory drove a faultless run to take an excellent 5th in round, Matt Box 6th, Chris Lovell 15th, Elliot Jones 32nd, Simon Davies 35th, and Andy Prosser 46th.
Round 3 and you've guessed it! Milan took another TQ, the only driver to complete 8 laps from Graham in 2nd, Chris Lovell took a great 6th in round, Gary Gregory 9th, Matt Box 17th, Simon Davies 30th, Elliot Jones 37th and Andy Prosser 47th.
In the final round of qualifying Graham 'Sloppy' Alsop reminded Milan of his pace and consistency by taking TQ with Milan in 2nd both completing 8 laps this time. Chris Lovell was 11th in round, Gary Gregory 14th, Elliot Jones and excellent 19th, Simon Davies 34th, Andy Prosser 43rd and Matt Box after somehow dumping his tank of fuel after just a couple of laps would retire early scoring 60th.
So with the drivers best 2 rounds counting to determine their grid positions the team would line up as follows:
Milan Dragojlovic TQ
Graham Alsop 2nd
Matt Box 7th
Chris Lovell 8th
Gary Gregory 10th
Elliot Jones 30th
Simon Davies 42nd
Andy Prosser 56th
Milans TQ winning HB:
So on to the finals and first up we had Andy Prosser in the E final. Andy started in P11 and consolidated his qualifying position by coming home 11th.
In the D final we had Simon Davies. Simon started in 8th position and although briefly holding a bump up spot he would eventually bring his Ielasi powered Soar seiki home in 7th place.
In the C final we had Elliot Jones who lined up his Kyosho/Ielasi machine in 8th place for the 15 minute final. After a great midfield battle Elliot would bring his ride home in a respectable 5th place.
I'm not sure if this is a first but all RCPB drivers managed to miss the famous Nitro x Cross B Main with 5 drivers heading straight into the 20 minute A final! After qualifying this would clearly be a battle of the two HB/MX boys and it didn't disappoint! Milan and Graham were pushing each other to the limits setting fastest lap after fastest lap and pulling a gap on the rest of the pack. The lead would change hands on several occasions but in the end TQ man Milan Dragojlovic would take the win with Graham in 2nd, both 2 laps up on 3rd place. Chris Lovell drove a great final to come home in 6th place, Gary Gregory improved his qualifying position by coming home in 9th place on the same lap as the 3rd place finisher so a big well done to GG! Matt Box had a scruffy final and eventually came home in 13th spot.
Here are the final positions after a great 20 minute final:
A totally dominating performance from the HB/Maxima/Hipex cars of Milan and Graham:
So with wrapping up the final round of the championship in style Milan would also be crowned 2016/17 Nitro X Cross Winter Champion. Congratulations Milan!
Chris Lovell took the over 40's Championship as well as 3rd overall in the series, A massive well done to Chris!
And Matt Box made it 3 RC Pit Box drivers in the top 4 with an excellent 4th overall.
A huge well done to all of our drivers who took part in the series. Here are the overall standings after 6 rounds with best 4 to count:
1. Milan Dragojlovic - HB Racing
3. Chris Lovell - Soar Seiki
4. Matt Box - Soar Seiki
17. Elliot Jones - Kyosho
21. Nathan Powney - HB Racing (only completed 3 rounds)
22. Ben Billing - Kyosho (Only completed 3 rounds)
27. Gary Gregory - Kyosho (Only completed 3 rounds)
35. Lee Curvis - Soar Seiki (Only completed 3 rounds)
60. Rich Price - Soar Seiki (Only completed 2 rounds)
75. Andy Prosser - Soar Seiki (Only completed 2 rounds)
So onto the driver of the day - I think this has to go to Milan Dragojlovic this week! A totally dominant performance not just at this event but the whole series taking TQ and the win in 3 of the 4 rounds and the win in the other. Well done Milan! An exciting season ahead!
Thank you to Answer RC for sponsoring the series, Alex Vernon for running the series and to Nitro X Cross for having us! We look forward to the summer series.

Sunday 29th of January saw round 5 of the popular Nitro X Cross winter series take place at Ledbury Model Car Club. With the weather forecast not looking great we didn't really know what to expect until we pitched up trackside. With Ledbury having its own weather system we took the chance to go racing and when we arrived we found that although some overnight rain was apparent the track looked very good with no puddles, just a mildly moist racing surface!
As per the Nitro X Cross series which run to the same format at each round we would have 4 rounds of 5 minute qualifiers with your best 2 rounds counting towards your final starting position. The weather held out for the most of qualifying and after the 4 rounds were complete the RCPB team placed as follows (From 46 competitors):
Nathan Powney - HB Racing - TQ
Matt Box - Soar Seiki - P5
Chris Lovell - Soar Seiki - P11
Elliot Jones - Kyosho - P13
Gary Gregory - Kyosho - P14
Lee Curvis - Soar Seiki - P25
Andy Prosser - Soar Seiki P37
So on to the finals and first up we had Andy Prosser who was running the Soar Seiki buggy for the first time. Andy started car 4 in the D Final and came home in 8th position after the 15 minute final. Well done Andy.
Andy showing off his new ride:
In the C Final we had Lee Curvis who drove a great final from P3 on the grid. Lee took the win in fine style with his Soar Speedbull engine absolutely screaming down the long Ledbury straight!
In the B Main we had Elliot Jones lining up in 2nd place, an awesome qualifying result from Elliot. His Kyosho MP9 TKI4 looking totally dialed! Just behind would be Gary Gregory who would line up in 3rd, again driving Kyosho powered by Ielasi Tuned. Joining them would be Lee Curvis after his C final win. Things didn't quite go to plan for Gary when his clutch bell came off on the warm up lap meaning he wouldnt start the final, Bad luck Gaz. Elliot unfortunately had to pit twice as he was using an old engine due to not wanting to damage his fresh unit. This put him out of contention for the bump up eventually coming home in 8th place. Lee drove a great final and came home in 6th place so double bump this week!
Onto the 20 minute A main and by this time the rain was coming down giving us a wet greasy surface to compete on.
It was a mixed start for the team with pole man Nathan Powney dropping a few places on the first lap and then got caught up in an incident on lap 3 resulting in a 4 minute lap time put paid to any chance of a win after a dominating qualifying performance. Matt Box went from 5th on the grid to 3rd by lap 2 but Chris Lovell, the master of terrible starts stormed from 11th on the grid to 2nd place by lap 2 and continued to battle for the lead throughout the whole race. Matt who had opted for a brave 1 stop fuel strategy took the lead on lap 14 and held the top spot for the entire race leaving Chris to battle for a podium place with the TLR of Chris Leighton and S Workz man Kevin Brunsden. Kevin eventually made an audacious mid air move on the last lap meaning Chris Lovell would eventually bring his Soar Seiki 998 TD1 E Buggy home in 4th place after holding a podium position for so long.
So at the end of the 20 minute main RCPB would come home in 1st, 4th and 8th place. A great result for the team!
Matt taking the top step of the podium:
So on to driver of the day.... This is a tough one! Nathan dominated qualifying with some very fast drivers in attendance but broke it again, Matt won the event but all he really did was kept it on its wheels with no exciting battles to excite the crowd, Mr Soar UK Chris lovell was incredibly helpful throughout the day, drove the wheels off his car and finally had a good first lap but blew it on the last! OK my drive of the day goes to Elliot Jones. Elliot is just a pleasure to be around, he is so helpful in the pits and always first to help put the tents up and take them down at the end. He helped with pitting and even gave a new racer some of his old tyres. Not only that his car was immaculately prepped and looked amazing on track and drove so maturely in qualifying getting an 8th in round and just missing out on an automatic A main spot. Well done big EL!
Thank you to the Ledbury crew for giving us a great track to race on and to Nitro X Cross for a great series and well run event.

Representing RC Pit Box we had the following drivers in Nitro:
Milan Dragojlovic - HB Racing - Maxima Engines - Maxima Fuel - Hipex Pipe
Ben Billing - Kyosho - Maxima Engines - Maxima Fuel - Hipex Pipe
Matt Box - Soar Seiki - Soar TRS Engine - Maxima Fuel - Hipex Pipe
Nathan Powney - HB Racing - Bullett Engine - Hotfire Fuel - Hipex Pipe
Elliott Jones - Kyosho - ielasi Tuned - Maxima Fuel - Hipex Pipe
Simon Davies - Soar Seiki - ielasi Tuned - Maxima fuel - Nova 9901 Pipe
Andy Prosser - S Workz - Ielasi Tuned - Maxima Fuel - Hipex pipe
In the E Buggy class we had Chris Lovell, Fresh from his victory at Swindon the previous day running his Soar Seiki 998 TD1 '17 Proto powered by Corally Lipos and Hobbywing ESC and Motor.
So after we had set up camp it was time to move on to qualifying. The track looked slick after an overnight frost so grip levels would be a bit of a mystery until we hit the track!
First up was Chris Lovell in the E buggy class. Chris drove a steady qualifier which put him 2nd in round behind Dan Austin, this pattern actually continued throughout all 3 rounds of qualifying meaning Chris would start the E buggy final in 2nd place.
Next up we would have Milan (Yes Milan in the first Nitro heat!). Even in slick conditions with horrendous traffic Milan managed to grab a 3rd in round showing he would be a real contender at his local track. Milan would go on to grab a TQ and a 2nd in round to place him P2 in the A main behind Michael Lightfoot and ahead of Darren Bloomfield on the grid. Also in heat 2 we had Andy Prosser, Andy would end up qualifying 3rd in the E final and on the lookout for a bump up on his local track!
In heat 4 we would have Nathan Powney with his fine looking HB D815. Nathan would end up dominating this heat taking the win in every round. This placed Nathan straight into the A main and would line up 4th on the grid. An excellent display.
On to Heat 5 and this would consist of 3 RCPB drivers. Matt Box and Simon Davies both driving Soar Seiki and Elliott Jones running Kyosho. Matt would take 2nd place in this heat in each of the 3 rounds of qualifying not quite matching the pace of TLR man Elliott Taylor and would line up in pole position for the B final, missing out on an automatic A main spot by just 1 point. Simon, First time out with his Soar buggy would line up 2nd in the D final and Elliott Jones after some great mature driving would line up 4th in the C final.
So in heat 6 we had Ben Billing with his Maxima powered Kyosho MP9 TKI4. Ben drove a really consistent qualifying session in all 3 rounds and was rewarded with an automatic A final spot lining up 8th on the grid.
Onto the finals and first up we had Mr Lovell. Chris lined up 2nd on the grid for the 15 minute E buggy A final but had a disastrous start pushing him to the back of the grid. Chris pushed hard racking up some impressive lap times but couldn't quite catch the eventual leader Dan Austin and came home in 4th place despite more bad luck, this time a PT issue resulting in missed laps.
Next up we had Andy Prosser in the E final. Andy drove a great race and got the bump up he was craving coming home in 2nd spot to progress to the D final.
In the D Final we had Simon Davies and Andy Prosser. Simon had an unfortunate issue on the start line and after returning from the pits he was a full lap behind the leaders. After getting his head down and finding a rhythm he finished a respectable 7th place. Andy started and finished 12th.
Onto the C final and here we had Elliott Jones. After a great qualifying session Elliott had an unfortunate incident and had to return to the pits for almost 4 minutes which put paid to any chance of a bump up into the B final. Hard luck Ell, there's always next week!
In the B final we had Matt Box on pole. Matt almost completed lap 1 with no dramas until the final triple! After getting this slightly wrong he dropped down the field but managed to claw his way back up and took the final bump up position on the last corner to progress to the A final.
So on to the main event of the day! After qualifying and bump up finals RCPB would head into the A main with 4 drivers starting in the top 14. Milan starting 2nd on the grid had an unfortunate tangle on lap 1 dropping him down to 13th position but quickly regained focus and pushed hard to finish 2nd overall just 1 second behind the eventual winner Darren Bloomfield. Milan set some very impressive lap times along the way! Matt Box would come home in 7th place from 14th on the grid. Ben Billing would bring his car home in 10th spot with Nathan Powney in 14th after an unfortunate rare breakage on his HB car after setting some very quick laps along the way.
So a pretty decent days racing for the team! Next up we will be heading back to Ledbury for round 5 of the Nitro X Cross series on the 29th January. All of the products used are available through our website and our team are very approachable track side. So if you need any help or advice with your Soar Seiki, Kyosho or HB buggy please come and see us.

RC Pit Box were represented by Milan Dragojlovic, Ben Billing, Matt Box, Nathan Powney, Chris Lovell and Elliott Jones and after 4 rounds of qualifying in a tough field of over 70 drivers Milan Dragojlovic would be the top qualifying RCPB driver taking his Maxima powered HB D815v2 to 2nd overall with only the current UK National champion Darren Bloomfield ahead of him. Ben Billing would qualify just behind Milan in 3rd with his fine looking Kyosho MP9 TKI4 also powered by Maxima Engines and Fuel. Nathan Powney also driving HB had a great day by lining up 4th overall, Chris Lovell put his Ielasi Tuned Soar Seiki 9th on the grid for the A main out qualifying the boss Matt Box who despite a 5th in round 4 would line up 15th overall with his Soar Seiki powered by the awesome looking SOAR Speedbull engine. Elliott Jones would end the days qualifying in a respectable 39th place with his Novarossi powered Kyosho.
Its the pits... Well I couldn't really use 'Under the Hood'!
Matt Box's Soar Seiki 998 TD1 2017:
Nathan Powney's HB D815v2:
Overall Qualifying:
2nd Milan Dragojlovic - Chassis: HB D815v2 Engine: MXB4 Fuel: Maxima Pipe: Hipex
3rd Ben Billing - Chassis: Kyosho MP9 TKI4 Engine: MXB4 Fuel: Maxima Pipe: Hipex
4th Nathan Powney - Chassis HB D815v2 Engine: Bullett Fuel: Hotfire Pipe: Beta
9th Chris Lovell - Chassis: Soar Seiki Engine: Ielasi Tuned Fuel: Maxima Pipe: Hipex
15th Matt Box - Chassis: Soar Seiki Engine: Soar Speedbull Fuel: Maxima Pipe: Hipex
39th Elliott Jones - Chassis: Kyosho Engine: Novarossi Fuel: Maxima Pipe: Hipex
So with Qualifying complete we move on to the finals. First up was Elliott Jones who lined up 5th on the grid in the D final. Elliott had a great start and jumped up to 3rd place tracking a bump up to the C final when unfortunately on lap 19 a rare problem caused Elliott to retire early from the race.
Next up would be Matt Box who lined up 4th in the B Final. Matt would take the lead on lap 3 and take the win after a great battle with Daniel Austin for a large portion of the race. Some great clean and competitive driving from both drivers made this a really good battle with Matt eventually bringing home his Soar Seiki in 1st place to take the bump up into the A main.
So on to the A main! A great achievement from the team to have 5 RCPB drivers in the A final but we all know that to qualify is one thing, to finish and finish well is another!
So as the flag dropped Darren Bloomfield had a great clean start, Milan went wide on the first corner allowing Nathan Powney into second place and Ben Billing held 3rd, however by lap 3 Milan had regained 2nd place and this is how it remained until the first round of pit stops in the 20 minute final. Darren would pit on lap 13 handing the lead to Milan who decided to make just the one stop on the 10 minute mark. The lead would change hands again when Milan made his only stop but when Darren made his 2nd stop Milan would regain the lead. For the last 10 laps of the race we would see a great battle between Milan and Darren, Milan's excellent defensive driving saw him hold off the challenge from Darren and take the win by just .5 of a second! Meanwhile the battle for the final podium place was hotting up. Ben Billing had held 3rd place for the majority of the race but on the final lap Michael Lightfoot made an audacious mid air move to take the 3rd step of the podium by just half a second from Ben! After 20 minutes of racing and some great battles further down the field Nathan powney would come home in 6th place, Matt Box in 12th and Chris Lovell in 13th.
A Final Podium:
The winning combination:
So all in all a great meeting for the RCPB team! What a way to end a very busy 2016!

Some members of the team were at the first NitroXcross meeting of the winter series, held at Shrewsbury. Matt Box, Milan Dragojlovic, Steve Shakespeare, Rich Price, Elliot Jones, Si Davies, Gary Gregory and Ben Billing were all in attendance.
After 4 rounds of qualifying it was Milan driving his HB car who took a brilliant TQ, Steve Shakespeare and his Kyosho car were 8th, Ben 17th running his Kyosho for the first time (pictured below), Rich was 22nd, Gary and Matt were 24th and 25th respectively. Elliot was 38th, Si 43rd – all great positions in the 60+ strong field of racers.
In the D final we had Elliot and Si, Elliot running his Nova powered Kyosho MP9 TKI4 and Si running his Radiosistemi RR8 V2. Si had a great start, gaining several places on the opening couple of laps, he settled into the midfield and finished a very good 9th. Elliot after a slow start, he powered his way back through the field to finish 6th.
In the C final we had Matt and Gary both running there Ielasi Tuned engines, Gary was on pole and Matt 2nd, bith had good starts from the line, Gary unfortunately had a problem and had to retire from the race but Matt took advantage and went on to get to 3rd and that’s where he stayed, taking the Bump to the B final.
Matt would join Rich and Ben in the B final. Ben flew off the line, and battled hard for a Bump spot, he just missed out finishing 7th, Rich (pictured below) and Matt finished 13th and 14th respectively after some small issues.
In the A we had Milan and Steve, Milan was on fire, he led nearly the whole race, taking the win by over 20s and the lap on the rest of the field as the buzzer went. Steve also had a great run, ending up 11th overall, his kyosho MP9 looking amazing on the tricky dusty track.
A great podium to start the winter season off for Milan and the team for the nitro boys!
On Saturday the 1/10th team headed over to Silverstone for the 1st round of their superb winter series. Arriving bright and early we were greeted by a 13 heat schedule (130 drivers) it was going to be a long day.
The 4wd’s were on 1st with Tommy & Jamie Hall, Felix de Hamel and Chris Ely all racing. All were looking fast and qualifying was going to be tight. Starting round 4 all was not going to plan with Felix, Tommy and Chris with 2 dnf’s each and all sitting in the B final. Fortunately with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in round respectively all RCPB drivers were safe in 3rd through to 6th on the grid.
The final looked like the front 2 would run away and the main battle would be for the final podium spot. Each driver had an incident or 2 with the final positions:-
Chris Ely – Schumacher K2 – 3rd
Felix de Hamel – PR – 5th
Tommy Hall – PR – 6th
Jamie Hall – PR – 7th
2wd was the big event with 100 drivers and several of the country’s top drivers in attendance. Mark Fletcher, James Barker, Jamie & Tommy Hall and Felix de Hamel would represent RCPB. Mark & Jamie set the early pace with stunning 6th& 10th in round 1 respectively, closely followed in round 2 by Felix with a 9th in round. Mark would follow this up with a 3rd in the final round to make the A final in an excellent 5th spot. All RCPB drivers would finish in the top 37 from 100 drivers,
Mark Fletcher – Schumacher – 6th
Felix de Hamel – PR – 17th
Jamie Hall – PR – 24th
Tommy Hall – PR – 34th
James Barker – Schumacher – 37th
Another brilliant start to the winter season for the team and another podium for the team!
Remember as always the kit that the team use is all available from RCPB, including our Maxima Fuel. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or have any queries please let us know. EAT,SLEEP,RACE,REPEAT!!!! Until the next race-day folks!

Over in Croatia we had Steve Shakespeare and his MP9 TKI4 representing the team and GB in the Over 40 Rallycross European championships. Milan Dragojlovic went to pit for him and Gary Gregory was GB Team manager!
Steve was on fire, he TQ'd practice and after qualifying he managed to be very high up in the semi finals. After a fantastic start in the semis and a great race with some very fast drivers he went on to win and take pole in the main event.
His pace was amazing but unfortunately a servo gave up and he had to retire from the main, but what a great weekend, as one of the fastest guys at the event, next year its yours Shakey!!!
So gutted for Steve! But that's racing hey!
Down at Nene Valley for the annual charity, the “Astro Attack” event we had Alex Page and his Mugen car taking part. This fantastic 2 day event is a combination of good fun and competitive racing combined with some great fund raising for Charity.
After day 1 Alex was 2nd in the buggy class, he was fast and after the final two rounds of qualifying on day 2 he sat 3rd overall. He would start 3rd on the grid in the A final and after a tough and competitive final Alex came home a brilliant 9th. He also put in one of the fastest laps of the day.
A good day for him and the Charity as the event raised over £1000 for Macmillan. Well done to all the Nene Crew for organising another successful event.
Up at NDOR a few more of the guys were compeating in another Charity event, The NDORance – a 6 hour endurance race, Team RCPB had two teams representing.
In the Stick boys team we had Matt Box, Chris Ely, Ashley Evans, Chris Lovell, and “guest” team member Liam Galvin.
In the Wheel Boys team we had Andy Prosser, Ben Billing, Rich Price, Elliot Jones, Si Davies and “guest” team member James Harrold.
The Race was started Le Mans style, a team member running a section of the track, then grabbing a supplied engine combo, with 2 gals of fuel. The Engine had to be bolted into the car, and then started. As the first car was started marshals were called to the track and the racing was begun, It was done in 15min stints so driver and marshals could swap over but the engine did not stop. RCPB managed to have the first car on track with the stick boys (car below), and the others all followed.
The Stick boys had a few laps lead on the rest of the teams after a few hours, an issue with some clutch bell bearings and a big crash moving the engine meant they were back down the field. The Wheel boys (car below) were hot on their tails, they to having to change clutch bell bearings also slipped down the leader board, but they both ploughed on.
Both teams were using Kyosho MP9 cars and they were both fantastic, not a single part failed on either car for the duration of the 6h race.
After 5h the Stick Boys (pictured above) engine was starting to show a sign of something being wrong, with 30 mins to go it was getting slower and slower until it finally stopped and no matter what the guys did it would go again. The Stick boys the 1st to also blow the engine! And even though they didn’t finish the 6h racing, they didn’t come last due to their great pace and ability to get the car on track first.
The wheel boys (pictured below)drove the rest of the race at great pace, getting the fastest lap of the day (thanks to James Harrold) they finished in style coming home 4th!
A great race event and something new for the team, the proceeds of the event also going to a local charity! And the Stick boys got two trophies – First on track and first engine blown. Thanks to the NDOR team on a brilliant event.
So that’s the summer season over, now it’s time for the winter series to begin. Thanks to the whole team – we had a great season!
EAT-SLEEP-RACE-REPEAT – stay tuned for more racing from the RCPB team next week and keep in touch by following the facebook page for all our product information, competitions and offers.

At Coventry’s new 1/8th Dirt track it was the final round of the Nemo NitroXCross. The new Coventry facility was green but after a few rounds was looking good, the tight twist sections and big jumps making an interesting qualifying.
On the Sunday representing the team was Ben Billing, Matt Box, Rich Price, Si Davies, Steve Shakespeare, Shaun Stenson, Jon Griffiths and Chris Lovell. After 4 rounds of qualifying in a tough field of competitors the guys had done brilliantly.
In E-buggy Chris Lovell and his Mugen MBX7r Eco got 3rd on the grid for the final. He had a brilliant start to his final, going to the front early on, and he eventually finished a fantastic 2nd. Another great drive by Chris.
In the Nitro class, Simon Davies and his RR8 got 40th overall, fantastic as there were over 70 drivers competing, Rich Price drove his Ielasi Tuned powered Sworks to 28th, Shaun and his HB got 25th, Jon Griffiths and his AE got 15th, Steve got 9th, Ben 8th and Matt 6th, all driving the Kyosho MP9.
In the finals it was Si Davies up first in the D, he had a tricky start going to the back of the field but he battled back to 11th. Shaun Started 5th in the C, he had a brilliantly consistent drive and he got 7th. Jon would start 5th in the B final. He too would have a fantastic race, getting the 3rd and final bump spot by just 0.5s from the 4th place man. So Jon would join Matt, Ben and Steve in the A final.
The A final would be a brilliant race, some top class drivers, including newly crowned British National Champion Darren Bloomfield, so it was going to be tough. Matt had the best start of the bunch getting up to 4th, and he finished a very impressive 8th after the 25mins. Ben got 7th just ahead of Matt. Jon went from 13th to 10th and Steve had to retire. All of the guys did brilliantly; let’s see what Sunday would bring!
A slight change in personnel, Milan Dragojlovic now competing, Jon, Shaun and Steve not present, and Chris Lovell going from Electric to Nitro! Milan and his MX powered Agama got a very impressive 5th overall for the finals, Matt Box got 19th, Chris got 26th with his Ielasi powered Losi, Rich 35th and Si just behind in 38th. Once again all in the top half of the field!
Simon would start 3rd in the D final, he and his RR8 looked amazing. Si retained his bump up spot for the majority of the race, but just missed the 3rd place by a few seconds. Rich and Chris were in the C final. Rich drove his Sworkz fantastically, he went from 9th on the grid to a very impressive 2nd, taking the bump to the B, Chris Finished 8th. Rich would join Matt in the B final. Matt had a decent start and he made some good moves, meaning he got himself to a bump position and that’s where he stayed, coming home 3rd. Rich finished 13th.
So onto the A final, Milan and Matt both got off the line well. Matt had a superb drive from 14th to finish 10th, and Milan came home on the podium in 3rd,his MX engine looking and sounding as sweet as ever.
Another fantastic result for the guys on the weekend and as it was the final round of the series that meant it was trophy time. Chris Lovell secured a brilliant 2nd overall in the E-Buggy championship. A great season with the Mugen for the driver!
In Nitro Milan got a fantastic 2nd in the series,
with Matt 5th overall
and Steve Shakespeare 9th. 3 drivers in the top 10 is brilliant for the team, but the whole team had a great championship. Well done to everyone on a great summer or racing.

And last but not least at Adur was Ashley Evans. At the start of the day the track was wet but drying which made it difficult with tyre choice so his first 2 heats he was off pace but once the track was pretty much dry he was back on pace taking 2 round wins. He took TQ in both E-buggy and SC and then won both finals by a lap in SC and 2 laps in e-buggy. A top finish to this week’s racing by Ashley!

It was a gorgeous sunny day at Dumfries for the last round of the Scottish 10th off road and John Gorman was up there representing RCPB with his fine looking Xray Xb4. The track started off as damp grass and soon turned dry and balding and fast! In Q1 he had a good run with no real issues and got 2nd in my heat and a 6th overall in round 1. In Q2 he had an average run getting tangled in back markers whilst lapping them, end result was 11th in round. In Q3, another good run again on a quickening track and another 2nd in heat and 6th in round. Q4 another 11th in round! Overall qualifying position was A6. Start of the A saw him back to last after a messy lap one but he got back up to 9th where he finished. Overall John finished a very impressive 10th in 4wd and 3rd overall in veterans. A brilliant series for John in his first year doing the Scottish nationals! Massive well done!!
Down in Slough it was the last in the 1/8th Rallycross nationals, lots of RCPB drivers were competing. Matt Box, Milan Dragojlovic, Steve Shakespeare, Kong McKenzie, Alex Page, Elliot Jones, Ben Billing, Gary Gregory and Chris Lovell were all competing. The track was looking amazing. The weather on the other hand was indifferent, some rounds of qualifying were dry and some were wet mixing things up. After all 5 rounds Milan and his Mx Powered Agama were 21st and top RCPB driver. Gary Gregory and his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho (pictured below) were a very impressive 44th, Matt Box and his MP9 was 47th and Ben Billing and his Nova Rossi/Sworkz Combo were just behind him in 52nd. Elliot and his Sworkz were 80th, and Kong was 74th with his Mugen.

Elliot had a great start and he ended up going from 10th to finish 6th and just behind Alex in 5th, Kong had a good race too and finished in impressive 9th. It was Chris Lovell who would have the best race of the bunch, he lead for a good chunk of the 20mins and came home for the Win in fine style. He would join Gary, Ben and Steve in the 1/8th B.
He would yet again have a fantastic race, going from the back of the grid to get 1st again. An amazing drive, his Ielasi Tuned engine was perfect allowing him to one stop both finals. Steve also had a great race, he went from 7th to finish behind Chris in 2nd. Gary and Ben would do battle for the last bump spot, Gary leading until a problem meant Ben took his chance and just pipped Gary to the 4th spot. Brilliant racing by the pair! In the A 1/8th we had team boss Matt, and he had a brilliant start, he was up at the sharp end until he had an issue forcing him back down the field but he still came in a very good 10th.
Up to the ¼ finals and Steve, Ben and Chris were in a tough field of racers, all had great races, Ben managed 8th from 14th with a fine drive, Chris got 11th and Steve 14th. A very impressive day for them all! Milan was in the A side ¼, he and his MX engine were on fire, he had an issue with his shell coming loose but he still managed a brilliant bump to the semi in 3rd. The pressure was on in the Semi, he was now racing the best in the country but his MX engine combined with the Agama was sublime, he powered through the field to get 6th and a place in the Main event. His great run would unfortunately end in the A main, with an electrical issue causing him to retire but he still had a brilliant day, once again making the main and battling with the top drivers in the country. His Car pictured below in scrutineering after the A main.
Graham Alsop also using MX would get 6th, a brilliant drive by him to finish off another great year for the driver, he will be on his way to Las Vegas for the world championships next month and all of us at RCPB will be rooting for him along with the rest of the British Team. We also take this oppitunity to say a massive well done to Darren Bloomfield on the national series win, Elliott Boots on 2nd and Lee Martin and his 3rd, these guys are great drivers and always willing to help others including RCPB, so well done and thank you!

All the RCPB guys had a good start, Jon had to retire early on leaving Matt/Milan and Graham. Graham and Milan were up the front, the MX motor running flawlessly. In the B final Chris and Ash would be at the back of the grid but Chris Lovell despite being dead last came back through the field with a vengeance. He was flying, and took a very impressive 5th, narrowly missing another bump. Ash ended up 10th.
A great day for all the guys and a fantastic end to the season, Chris Lovell finished an impressive 18th in the series, Ashley 28th, George 31st, Steve Ibbotson 35th, Chris Ely 39th and Gary Gregory 41st. Awesome work from the E-buggy guys!
At Shrewsbury and the latest round of the summer series we had Matt Box, Milan Dragojlovic, Rich Price, Elliot Jones, Ben Billing, Steve Shakespeare, Kong McKenzie and Alex Page. The dusty track would prove tricky in the sunny conditions but the Team would have a great day.
After some tough qualifying Elliot got 32nd with his Sworks/Nova Rossi Combo, Alex and his mugen got 22nd, Ben 13th, Rich 12th, Kong 11th, Steve 8th, Matt 4th and Milan took the TQ. Milan was the only driver to get the 8 laps in so he would take some stopping in the finals.
Up first was Elliot, he was starting 8th on the grid and he would have an amazing start, he went on to take a very impressive 2nd, he would bump to the B final and join Ben and Alex in a very tough line up. Ben would start on pole but unfortunately after some bad luck, he returned to the pits early and finished 13th, Elliot just in front in 12th. Alex had a storming race, he went from 10th to an amazing third taking the bump to the A.
The A final would have 6 RCPB drivers, not bad from 15 drivers! Alex and his Mugen continued his great form going from the back of the grid to battle in the midfield with Rich, Steve and Kong. Unfortunately more retirements from Steve and his Kyosho and Rich with his Sworkz meant they finished 13th and 14th but Alex continued on to get 7th ahead of fellow Mugen driver Kong. At the front of the final were Matt and Milan with their Kyosho’s. Matt’s Ielasi powered machine took the lead early and only a bit of bad luck meant he dropped to 3rd. Milan took over the lead from Matt and he was flying, his new Maxima MX B2R engine looked and sounded rapid. His fastest lap and average lap were incredible and he took a very impressive Win by a good margin. A double Podium for RCPB!

Kong was in the B 1/8th, he started 5th on the grid and after a great race he also finished 5th. Chris was in the same final as Kong, he was also having a great race, he finished a massively impressive 10th, a great start to his Nationals CV! Matt was starting 8th in his ¼ final, and gunning for a semi with his Ielasi powered kyosho. His car looked dialled and he had an awesome drive, mixing his buggy in with the top drivers at the pointy end of the final, up as far as 4th and in contention for a good part of the race, he just missed out on a semi final bump, with his best ever nationals result of 5th in the ¼ finals. Great job Matt!
In the other ¼ it was Dom and Ben, both also had great pace, Dom ended up a very god 10th and Ben 11th. Well done both, great close racing between the pair.
In the Semi finals it was Milan’s turn, he and his Ninja engine had a pit stop in their pocket and he knew a steady drive would get him in a bump spot to the A Main. He drove a brilliant, mature race and powered home in 4th. In the main he would be joined by the best drivers in the country and on the tight lines of the track it would be a hard place to overtake, he once again had a pit-stop advantage. He started 7th on the grid. He had a stunning drive, competing in the top 5 from the onset, he stayed with the pace as others returned to the pits and he got up to 3rd and that’s where he stayed. His first ever national podium! A great result for Milan and the great points haul meant that he now stands 7th in the national championship.
Brilliant day by him and the rest of the team, rounding off a great weekend of racing all over the UK!
All of the kit and cars that the team use are available from RCPB, and all of our drivers are always willing to help each other as well as other racers, if you see one of us always come and say hello. Until next week - EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!
]]>Last week was the 1/10th Off Road Euros in Spain and RCPB driver Felix De Hamel and his Schumacher cars were lucky enough to be one of the BRCA entries for Team GB - Pictured above. He would compete in both 2wd and 4wd at the championships, held at Valladolid on the 1/8th Dirt track. The track looked amazing and all the cars coped well on the fantastic features. First was 2wd and Felix despite missing some of practice due to being unwell made a mightily impressive start, he had a 38th in round (see below).
He continued his great qualifying ending up 48th overall. In his final he had a great start and took some places ending up 3rd as the buzzer sounded so finishing 43rd overall! Very impressive driving, but this was not the end 4wd began straight after 2wd finished. He ended up 52nd after a much tougher qualifying session. This meant he would line up in the F final alongside some truly great drivers. He went on to finish 6th and 56th overall which is a fantastic achievement for the young driver. We look forward to many more Euros for Felix in the years to come.
On the weekend we had NitroXcross again rounds 11 on Saturday and it was at a brand new venue, JC Raceway is a joint venture between the previous Frankley Model car cub and JC Racing Products. The new track would mean an even playing field in a full line up of racers. The track looked fantastic after only a few weeks work, well done to all who helped! (track pictured below)
In E Buggy we had Chris Lovell and his RC Concept powered Mugen, he qualified 3rd. He had a very good run in his final on the tricky track and managed to gain a place and finished 2nd.
In Nitro we had Si Davies, Gary Gregory, Milan Dragojlovic, Steve Shakespeare and Matt Box. Si Davies had some very decent runs and qualified 42nd from over 60 drivers. Gary and his new ride the Kyosho MP9 were on fire and qualified a very impressive 18th. Matt managed a couple of top 10 finishes and as a result made 10th place his own, Steve despite missing 2 rounds of qualifying got 7th and Milan 3rd. All 3 of their Kyosho’s handling the bumpy track amazingly well and all getting in the A final.
Si Davies and his Radiosistemi RR8 would start 8th in the D final, he had a fantastic start, getting up into the leading 3 cars, at times even taking the lead. He drove brilliantly, bringing his car home in 3rd and a bump to the C Final. He had another good start from the back of the pack, and came home 11th. A great days racing for Si!
Gary was up next in the B final, he got caught up at the start and was at the back of the pack but his pace with the Ielasi tuned powered Kyosho got him back up to 7th. Steve, Matt and Milan were up in the A. Matt ended up 13th, Steve 10th but Milan battled for the lead. He and the other 2 leading cars shot away from the pack pulling out a lead, and after some great and consistent driving he pulled off a superb win by 20 seconds. Another win for Team RCPB and Milan!
On Sunday we had new team member Nathen Powney with his brand new Bullet powered TLR car, and Andy Prosser ad his Bullett Powered Sworkz and AE driver Jon Griffiths join us.
Chris and his Mugen MBX7r Eco were back in fine form and he got the TQ with 3 firsts in round. He also pulled off the win, after losing the lead in the middle part of the race he got it back and went on to win by over 20s. Another great drive by the Mugen man.
Si Davies had another good day with his RR8, he got 37th and Andy got 49th. Gary managed 24th, Nath 16th, Jon 15th and once again the kyosho drivers Milan, Matt and Steve made the A, with Matt 8th, Steve 7th and Milan 3rd. Steve,s fine looking MP9 Tki4 flying through the air below! (picture by JMRPhotography)
Andy started 9th in the E final, he had an amazing start and wound up 2nd after 2 laps, he battled hard and came home 8th after a fine drive. Si was up next and unfortunately had a problem coming home 13th.
Gary was up next starting 4th in the C, he and his Kyosho came home 9th. Nathan lined up 6th and still getting to grips with his new engine and car he was learning fast, he came home a brilliant 5th, narrowly missing the bump to the A. Jon just edged Nathan, his AE looked dialled, he jumped from 5th to 2nd and got the bump to the A in fine style.
Jon, Steve, Matt and Milan lined up for the A, nearly 1/3rd of the A final were team RCPB, great work guys! Matt, Steve and Jon would be battling it out on track, Jon Griffiths came out on top, and he took 9th place. Steve and his “Elliot Boots” edition Reds engine ended up 12th and Matt was 10th just 0.2 of a second behind Jon. A great race between the 3, brilliant, competitive and clean driving by all 3 guys! Milan was on another level, he drove an amazing race, he took the lead half way through the race and retained it, pulling out a lead of over 10seconds from the 2nd place man. Another win by him and the Team – so all in all RCPB took 3 wins in A finals out of 4 over the weekend!! Milan Pictured below with his Kyosho Mp9 Tki4.

]]>In Scotland, John Gorman and his Xray 1/10th was competing in the Scottish 1/10th nationals. The Track started in good condition but with a lot of excess grass. In round one the rear wheel was clogged with grass, locking it up which gave him a 22nd in round. Round two was good as the track got quicker and he got a 4th in round. Round 3 reasonable as the track became slippery with rain giving him a 7th in round. Round 4 it was very slippery and only managed a 10th. It was a 4 and 7 to count. That put him in 9th in the A. The Rain was torrential so he made the decision to not run, but all in all a pretty decent day for John. From the pictures below we can see why!
Down at Adur it was Ashley Evans and his Mugen MBX7R Eco and his Tekno SC buggy take a great TQ and win once again. His cars are pictured below!
Great work to the guys who managed to race this weekend!

Tommy and Jamie were in the F final and both drove extremely well coming in 4th and 5th respectively. In the E final was Mark and Dom. Dom was on fire and finished 3rd, Mark came home 9th. Felix was in the D final and starting from 2nd, he had a good start and continued his great run of form to come home a brilliant 7th.
In 4wd on Sunday, Dom was well and truly in his element, he put in some messily impressive times with a huge 10th in the last round, after qualifying he was 16th. Felix was 43rd and Mark 51st just ahead of Tommy in 54th and Jamie in 59th. Another awesome performance by the team in qualifying! Dom's Car pictured below ready to go!

Felix was in the E final and starting 3rd, he went on to gain a place from the start and finished 2nd. Dom was in the B final, and finished the TOP F3 driver of the day in 7th. A great drive for all especially Dom. Massive well done young man.
On Saturday it was Ledbury Club Series and Chris Lovell, Ben Billing and Si Davies were representing us in 1/8th Nitro. Si Davies and his Radiosistemi qualified in a very good 12th with Chris Lovell and his Alpha Dragon powered Mugen up in 6th and the Nova/Sworkz combo of Ben in a perfect 1st, taking the TQ by just 0.5s.
Si finished 8th in the B final after a small problem. Ben and Chris were in the A and what a race they both had. Bens race was sublime and he took the win by over 15s. Chris starting 6th, and only the 2nd time out with his MBX7R nitro he showed his fantastic pace and race ability by storming through the field to take 3rd and his first A final Podium in Nitro. Well done guys – a double podium for the team!
Down at Pembrey Circuit in south Wales on Sunday we had a few of the team at the EBuggy/Truggy Nationals. Gary Gregory and his Radiosistemi E-buggy and Chris Lovell with his Mugen MBX7R Eco were representing the team. Chris and Gary both did well in quail and got themselves into the B final. Gary had a problem early on and had to retire but Chris for the second time in a weekend was heading for the A final, He took the win from 4th on the grid with a great drive. He then continued his run of great form by going from 11th to 8th in a very competitive A final. So another good race day for the team!
At Herts Kong McKenzie took his Mugen out for a spin, He qualified well getting in the B final, and a very good final took the win and bump into the A. He had a problem in the A but still had a fantastic day overall.
Well done to all the guys and gals from the team who raced the previous few weekends , and we hope the great racing continues for the team!
As always all of the kit the guys use is available from RCPB, keep an eye on facebook for current news and deals. EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!
]]>At Kidderminster for the Mid West 1/10th regional! Felix De Hamel and Mark Fletcher and their Schumacher cars were representing. Both drivers in great form recently so it was going to be a very competitive RCPB team at Marks home track. Both had great qualifying, Felix managed some fantastic qualifying runs and got straight in the B, he qualified and finished 13th, a great day for this young driver. Fletch made the A, and finished a superb 8th. So both drivers finished in the top 15, Well done guys, we predict some very high finishes in the championship this year for both guys. Fletch’s stunning looking Schumacher car, pictured below.
At Swindon model car club it was Chris Lovell and his Mugen MBX7R eco taking an impressive TQ and win, and by a 2 lap margin over 2nd place. Another top placed finish from Chris, his fine looking buggy pictured below.
Down at Herts it was Rd3 of the 1/8th Nitro nationals, a big team down at one of the best tracks in the UK. Team Boss Matt Box, Alex Page, Milan Dragojlovic, Gary Gregory, Steve Shakespeare, Arron Girling and Kong McKezie would do battle over the two days. In qualifying the tricky weather made qualifying interesting, tyre choice would be important.
Milan would end up an amazing 13th overall after 5 tough rounds of quail, with 2 10ths on the board. He and his Kyosho MP9 Tki4 were on fire. Kong was next with 49th with his Mugen MBX7r, closely followed by Steve and his Tki4 in 51st and Arron with his Ielasi tuned powered Kyosho in 55th. Matt ended up 69th, Gary 84th and Alex 109th.
Alex would be first up in the finals in the A 1/64ths, this was a very close final; Alex started 5th and after a good start finished 8th with his Kyosho. Gary was next in the B 1/32, starting 2nd on the grid, he and his Ielasi Tuned 7 port engine managed to one stop the 20min final with ease, meaning he was in prime position for a bump up, he drove brilliantly and came home 2nd. His amazing pace continued in the 1/16B final where he pulled off some great overtakes, that combined with another one stop meant he finished 5th, narrowly missing another bump.
In the other 1/16th final was Matt, he meant business, driving a steady final and easily finishing 3rd with his Ielasi/Kyosho combo dialled! His bump meant that he would join Kong, Steve and Arron in the A1/8th final (his car pictured below ready for the finals).
4 RCPB drivers in the same final - The battle was on! Steve took up the lead early on and Arron and Kong were also competing at the sharp end. Steve pulled out a small lead and crossed the line in first place, Kong and Arron were wheel to wheel tryng to get the final bump spot, a great bit of driving by the pair, 2seconds separated the pair at the line, with Kong just edging it from Arron. Matt finished 11th. Steve and Kong both went on to the A1/4 but had problems and had to retire from the race.
Up to the Semi and Milan had a great start, his quick pace meaning he gained some places, a few bobbles put him back in the pack, but he was still in hot pursuit of 7th, and the final bump spot. He crossed the alongside the 7th place driver after a good on track scrap, he was unfortunately just behind on the track and narrowly missed the bump by just short of 1 second.
Another great day for the team, everyone giving a great performance as usual! As always all of the cars and kit that the guys use including fuel, tyres and accessories are available from RCPB. EAT,SLEEP,RACE,REPEAT!
]]>Over in Ireland at the Paddy Piston Race Chris Lovell (E-Buggy), Milan Dragojlovic, Si White, Alex Page, Ben Billing, Gary Gregory and John Gorman (nitro) enjoying the great annual event that is PPR. Hosted at BADMCC the track, facilities and the hospitality are second to none – pictured above. All of the nitro/electric are mixed in for the qualifiers and so after all qualifying rounds were done it was Milan Dragojlovic and his Ninja powered Kyosho MP9 TKI4 that was top of the RCPB pile. He was a hugely impressive 4th overall, after some very quick times. Ben was next up in 14th and his Sworkz/nova rossi combo looking as consistent ass always. Chris Lovell and Gary Gregory were tied on the same points but Chris and his RC Concepts powered Mugen MBX7R Eco got 19th and Gary and his Ielasi Tuned/Radiosistemi combo 20th overall. Alex and his Kyosho after some problems early in qualifying got 31st, John Gorman also Kyosho ended up 40th and Si driving Mugen was 50th (pictured below), A very good performance by all the team. Due to the gloomy bad weather most of the finals were not run, but a good time was had by all, the track looked awesome, just a shame the rain came.
At the new Coventry 1/10th track it was time for the 1/10th boys to show us how its done in the West Mids Regional's.
The young guns were at it again Felix De Hamel (car pictured above)and Dom Nunn both managed the A and finished a very fine 9th and 8th respectively. The B final (pictured below) also saw Team Boss Chris Ely and Tommy Hall both running their XRAY cars, Chris managed a very good 6th but Tommy stormed to a fine 2nd place. Jamie also had a fantastic day ended up 2nd in the C, he and his xray looking good as always. A great day at the regional's for the team.
At Sumner ponds model show Ashley Evans took the TQ in all 4 rounds and was the only person to get 14laps in, he also won both finals by lap his mugen mbx7r Eco running spot on all day. (Pictured below)
Last but not least it was NitroXcross Weston Par and a few more of the 1/8th team were in attendance, Team Boss Matt Box, Si Davies, Elliot Jones, Rich Price and Steve Shakespeare. Two days of races on the old school dirt track and the famous Weston Park Model air show.
On Saturday In a field of nearly 90 drivers Rich Price managed a 55th despite early problems, Elliot just pipped him in 53rd, Mattt box who was having radio problems was 28th and Top RCPB driver was Steve who was a very impressive 8th after some great runs in qualifying. Elliot and Rich were up first in the E final – both running Sworkz and both had a good go at the bump. Rich climbed from 7th to take 4th, narrowly missing the final bump spot and Elliot drove a blinder, from 5th to a very impressive 2nd place and onto the D final. His pace continued, with some quality lap times and he finished a very respectable 12th.
In the C final we had Team boss Matt Box and his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho and his ability earned him a great first after a good on track battle, he continued his run by getting from the back of the grid to a bump but a problem saw him drop back down the field to a 12th place finish. Steve Shakespeare was the driver of the day, he and his Elliot Boots edition Reds engine sounded awesome as he powered through the field in the A final. From 8th to a podium in a great final with some very good drivers. Great drive by Shakey, his TKI4 is now bedded in and dialed - pictured below!
On Sunday Steve decided to run Ebuggy as well, and it was a great decision, he got 2nd in 3 rounds clinching the 2nd place grid slot. He couldn't turn it in to a podium as a electrical issue meant he returned to the pits early but a pretty god debut for the kyosho ebuggy! He also managed to be the top RCPB driver again in Nitro, with a brilliant 4th overall. Matt was next in 14th, Rich 28th, Elliot 31st and Si 43rd. Simon was first up in the finals in the D, he started 10th and a mega consistent run gave him 9th with his Radiosistemi. The rain came in the C final and Rich and Elliot with their sworkz struggled on a very slippy awkward track, the weather got the better of Rich who retired but Elliot went on to battle the elements and finished 10th.
Matt was in the B, he had a great start but the heavy rain took its toll, he and his car struggled on to battle for the bump and he just missed out finishing 4th, only a few seconds behind 3rd. In the A final Steve was one of many retirees and finished 14th – but still the TOP RCPB driver of the day!
Next week its 1/10th regional's and Nitro nationals plus RCPB drivers at local club events.
As always the cars and kit used by our drivers are all available through the shop. EAT SLEEP RACE REPEAT – get in touch for all your RC needs.
Felix de Hamel and his Schumacher’s attended the EPR (Eden Park Raceway) for 1/10th 2wd/4wd nationals. The fantastic track looking “slightly” damp in the picture below!
On Saturday it was 2wd and at the end of 4 rounds of qualifying he was a very impressive 43rd overall. A great 4th in Under 16! This put him starting 3rd in the E final in a very tough field of drivers and he made it stick and with a fantastic drive claimed 3rd place. A great drive!
On Sunday it was 4wd and he was exceptionally consistent managing a very good 26th in round 3. Unfortunately due to the weather conditions the day was called off after 3rds leaving Felix 33rd. Keep your eyes on this young man as he is defiantly one to watch.
His 2wd Schumacher Car is pictured below showing his Orion speedo and batteries, REDS motor Sanwa rx.
Over in Portugal for the European B Championships we had Milan Dragojlovic, Gary Gregory and Steve Shakespeare not only representing RCPB but also Great Britain! (pictured with the rest of the team below)
They were 3 of the 7 man team. After 4 gruelling rounds of qualifying Gary Gregory and his Ielasi Tuned Powered RR8 V2 managed a very good 79th from a field of over 105 racers. Steve Shakespeare and his New Kyosho MP9 TKI4 would end up 60th after some really good qualifying results in the early rounds. Milan also running his new TKI4 was top of the crop, not only for RCPB but for Team GB as well with a massively impressive top ten run in one round to put him 18th overall.
The lads were hugely competitive on an unknown track in changeable conditions with fierce competition but all excelled in the finals. Gary Started 8th on the grid in the A 1/32, and he had a great start to the race, fighting up front for a bump when an incident with a back marker put him back down the field, he finished in 8th, a great run with his new 7 port Ielais Tuned engine, when fully bedded in, it’s going to be rapid in the his RR8.
Steve was up next starting 6th in the B 1/16 final. He also had a fantastic start, battling at the sharp end for a good while during the race. He went on to finish a great 8th – his Reds powered TKI4 looked awesome as always. (picture below in mid flight top right)
Milan just missed out on a direct semi final place and started pole in the B ¼. He nailed it, his new colours (by bandicoot bodies) blazing a trail and he went on to clinch 2nd place by over 10s and bumped up to the Semi. He drove an amazing Semi, but an incident led him to return to the pits just before the buzzer. He still managed to be top finishing Brit and ranked 21st overall in the event. A great achievement, and massively impressive with a new car, never been tested before, a new fuel and on a track he had never seen before. (car pictured below).
Well done to all the guys in the GB team and especially to the Team RCPB boys.
Next stop for some of the guys is Paddy Piston and some more at Weston Park as well as a few other meetings so more reports to follow next week. Remember all of the products/cars etc that the guys use are available through RCPB.
EAT,SLEEP,RACE, REPEAT !
]]>Up in Scotland we had John Gorman taking part in the Oople race and here are his thoughts on the weekend’s action, “51 4wd entries and more in 2wd at the 2 day Oople event at Dunfermline. Day one saw 4 rounds of qualifying, Round one and very high grip as the grass was still intact, so grip roll was an issue. Despite that I took a 22nd in round. Round two and the Track was getting faster but had way too many mistakes on the bumpy and tricky track. Result was 31st in round. Round 3 and the track was approaching its best and a clean run got me 20th in round. Round 4 and now the track was getting slippery in places as the grass disappeared add in a few mistakes and I was a 26th. That concluded the days racing! On Sunday it was Round 5. Track was pretty slick, so grip and balance were an issue but I pushed through it and popped in a 21st. That put me C6 at the end of qualifying (26th overall) as pictured below. Onto the finals and Leg one was good and after a decent start I got into second and pulled a good gap over 3rd, But couldn't quite catch the leader resulting in 2nd place! Leg 2 wasn't a good run and ended up last after some tangles. Managed to pull it back to 7th.In Leg 3 I made a decent start making up some spots. Then too many errors dropped me back coming home 5th. My Final placing after the 3 legs was C4 (24th). So a decent weekend at a good event!” John is pictured below with his Xray – thanks for the report John!
At the other end of the country it was the Ebuggy and Truggy nationals at the impressive Herts track. In ebuggy we had Gary Gregory, Chris Ely, Steve Ibbotson, Ashley Evans, George Miller and Chris Lovell.
Gary and Chris managed to qualify into the D final, with Chris 6th and Gary 7th, both had a good start, Gary had a problem and had to retire early on but Chris and His Xray battled on to finish a respectable 10th. Steve Ibbotson, Chris Lovell, Ashley Evans and George Miller qualified in the C final! George stuck in some decent lap times with his Sworkz ebuggy and finished 10th. Chris L and Ashley were battling in the top bunch, Ashley coming from 10th to finish an impressive 5th, just in front of fellow Mugen Driver Chris Lovell. Steve was on form though after some unlucky qualifying, he started 6th and went on to a fantastic podium taking the 3rd place and the bump. He continued his great pace through the B final and came home 10th. Another great drive by Ibbo and his Alpha powered TLR car and well done to the rest of the Ebuggy RCPB team!
At Ledbury in the club series we had Simon and Simeon White, Simon Davies, Rich Price, Elliot Jones and Andy Prosser. Simeon and Andy were once again close in quail and both ended up in the C final, Simeon and his Mugen MBx7r started just ahead of Andy and his Sworkz. Sim unfortunately had a problem and retired after a good start but Andy went on to a decent drive finishing 5th. Elliot and Si Davies were up next in the B Final. Elliot and his Sworks were once again dialed – he went on to a fine 3rd and Si and his RR8 ended up 6th.
Onto the A final – Ben, Rich and Si White representing RCPB! Si had a great start in his Mugen, and fought his way to take 4th, Rich had to retire but Ben was back at his best, in the zone, chasing down the leader. Ben finished 2nd, but only by a few seconds in a stunning display of driving. Pictured below on the podium!
RCPB will be back in action soon and as always the cars, kit, fuel and accessories that all the team use in 1/10th and 1/8th are available through the website and or drop us a line if you can’t find what you are looking for. EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!

They would also be at the top of the pack in the finals, all battling for the podium, and RCPB just missed out on the full podium with the top four finishing as it started, with Chris just missing out on 3rd.

Si and Elliot were in the E final and both starting from the middle of the pack, Elliot and his Nova powered through to take a marvellous 2nd place and another bump for the Sworkz driver. Si had a tougher race with his RR8 but still finished in 11th. Elliot would join Chris E in the D final, and he would go onto another stunning drive, going from 13th to 5th narrowly missing the bump, and just behind Chris E who also had a great drive but also missed the bump. Elliot's Podium Picture below.
In the C it was Gary and Rich representing, both raced at the pointy end, Rich and his new Sworks finished in a fantastic 8th and Gary just ahead in 5th. Kong and Steve were up next in a very competitive B final, a good field of drivers saw “Shakey” and his “Boots” edition Reds engine take an impressive win, Kong who had a problem had to return to the pits early in the race but showed his stunning pace with his Mugen before retirement. Shakeys Podium Pic below.
Ben, Shakey, Matt and Milan would be up in the A, and all got off the line well, Milan and his MP9 taking the lead for a long period of time and bring home a superb 3rd place, Ben and his Sworks ended up 6th with Matt just behind in 7th and Shakey and his Kyosho went from 12th to a fine 8th. Great race and some stunning wheel to wheel racing! Matts car pictured in full flight below.
Day two/Monday and a slight change to the line up with a few of the guys not racing. In Ebuggy Chris Lovell was back at the sharp end in Electric, taking a fine TQ in the class. His RC Concepts Motor banging in a fantastic time to take the pole ahead of the pack. He went on to bring home the win, even getting the extra lap on the field in the final. Another win for the Mugen driver and some great points for the series!
Si Davies had a great day, qualifying an impressive 42nd in a field of over 60, Elliot got 37th and Rich Price 30th, Gary got 21st and Steve S got 18th, Matt box (pictured below marshalling) again just making the A in 11th and Ben just ahead in 9th with Milan top of the RCPB pack again in 7th.
Si had an issue and had to retire early in the D final. Elliot was up next in the C, and again showed great improvement, going from 11th to 9th. Gary and his RR8V2 and Shakey and his MP9 were in the B final, both having great starts shooting them up the field, Gary also running his “boots” edition Reds engine was flying. He finished 8th in a very strong field. Shakey also drove extremely well, unfortunately just missing the bump with 4th.
Ben, Matt and Milan were to do battle in the A final for team RCPB. Ben had to retire early after a great start which left Matt and Milan. Both had a tricky race but Matt and his Ielasi tuned engine managed to gain some places and finished 9th. Milans Kyosho came home 7th. Another top finish from Milan (pictured below).
We at RCPB would like to thank the nitroxcross crew and also the Swansea Club for an awsome track and a great weekend.
Great work from the whole RCPB team at Pembrey, well done guys and gals, but they were not the only RCPB team members on track. Ashley Evans (pictured below) was racing his MBX7r Eco and his Techno Short Course and he managed to take the Tq and win in both classes at ADUR. He managed to win nearly every heat as well. Nice work Ashley.
As always all of the cars and kit used by the team above is available through RC-Pitbox, next weekend the team are racing at Ledbury Models Car Club, East Shrewsbury Model Car Club, The Oople race and also at the Ebuggy/Truggy Nats so if you see the logo, go over and say hello and our team will always be happy to help you any way they can. At Swindon Model Car club Chris Lovell and his MBX7r Eco managed the TQ and a win - lapping the field in his final. His RC Concept powered Mugen looking stunning as always and Chris once again on the podium. Nice work!
At the mid south Regional at the Torch track we had James Baker and his daughter Rhiannon and Son Charlie and Steve Ibbotson giving their Schumacher’s a blast. Charlie and Rhiannon only racing in a regional for the 2nd time did amazingly well, Rhiannon even managed to beat her brother in the finals. Rhiannons car looking good in full flight below!
James and Steve both qualified in the B final, Steve having had bad luck in the first few rounds turned it round in the last qualifier getting the TQ even if it was with Charlie’s car (all pictured below). He qualified 7th in the B and managed to bring it home in 6th, behind lead RCPB man James who drove a blinder and finished on the podium in 3rd.
Down at Kiddermister club it was also a good day for the pitbox team as well, It was the 4wd mid west regional at the excelent and well known track pictured below. The team was represented by team Boss Chris Ely and Tommy and Jamie Hall.
Tommy hall qualifying an excellent 12th overall with Chris Ely also in the B final. Jamie struggled a bit in qualifying then put in a great C final so close to taking the win in 2nd. The B final was a messy affair with Chris coming home 7th just in front of Tommy. Another great performance by the rising stars of the RCPB team - Tommy and James!
At the Ralleycross National at the superb Kent model car track (pictured below) we had a few more of the 1/8th team, Team Boss Matt box, Milan Dragojlovic, Alex Page, Ben Billing, Steve Shakespeare, Kong McKenzie, Arron Girling, Gary Gregory.
The track was in awesome condition, and the changeable conditions would shake up the qualifying for the team. After some rain and sun, catching a few of the guys out with tyres in their heats, qualifying ended with Milan near the top of the pile. He had managed a superb 5th in round giving him an overall 9th, and place straight in the semi final! He and his Kyosho MP9 TKI3 are finally starting to show their true pace. Aaron was next with 41st overall, his Ielasi Tuned engine now sounding sweet in his Kyosho. Ben was 45th with his Sworks/Nova Rossi Combo. Kong, Steve and Matt were the guys most hampered by the weather but still managed some solid runs, they ended up 60th, 61st and 62nd. Gary and his Radiosistemi RR8/Reds Combo was just behind in 65th, and Alex Page and his Kyosho in 70th. All very close even after 5 rounds of qualifying.
Matt Gary and Alex as usual had all managed to make it to the same final – B 1/16th, Matt drove a stunning race his Ielasi tuned powered MP9 lead from start to finish, even pitting in the later stages for a “splash and dash” even though he was capable of one stopping the 20mins. Gary who started on pole also had a fantastic race, managing to clinch the final bump up spot and also progress to the 1/8ths. Alex came home 10th. Matt and Gaz would join Kong in the 1/8ths, and Kong was on fire, he powered through the field from 10th to 2nd, and clinched his place in the ¼’s in fine style. Matt and Gary finished 8th and 10th respectively.
In the A 1/16ths was Steve Shakespeare and his Reds powered Kyosho MP9, He also lead from start to finish, with an impressive 12s lead over 2nd place. Steve would join Ben (pictured below with his car) and Arron in the 1/8ths.
Even Steve’s amazing drive from 11th to 5th didn’t compare to the lightning pace of Arron who drove to a fine 2nd place and a place in the ¼’s. Ben unfortunately had some bad luck on the last lap and ended up 8th, narrowly missing the bump with his Sworks Evo 2 LE – a great drive from Ben, with much more to come in the following rounds i’m sure.
First up in the 1/4’s it was Kong, his fine looking Mugen had a great start, and he drove to a very good 10th place. Great day for Kong and the MBx7r! Arron also showed his skills and managed a great 11th place. Onto the semi’s and Milan! He started 5th on the grid but the line up was littered with RC stars so it was going to be tough, he had a great start but slipped back into the pack, after some of the leaders cut, his Luck was in and he powered into a bump spot with some fine driving and stunning overtakes. He brought the MP9 home in 6th and got the bump to the A-main. (Milans car pictured below being prepped for the final) Milan would line up 13th in the main event. He managed a decent start and held position even going up to 6th after at the time of the first pitstops, he settled back into the pack and drove a stunning 45mins to round off a great day for him and the team in 11th.
A great weekend of racing for the team and a massive well done to Milan on his A-main appearance! The start of the dirt season is upon us and the start of some seriously good racing for the team, who visit some far flung corners of Europe over the next few weeks. As always all of the cars, kits, fuel, tyres and accessories that all of the team uses are available from RCPB!
This weekend we are on site at Pembrey Track for the Swansea round of the Nemo Nitroxcross series, so if you need anything let us know.
Until next time – EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!!!4
]]>Chris Lovell was exceptionally fast with his ebuggy, having some great qualifiers and just missing out on the top spot, he came in 2nd just 3.5s of FTD. Another solid drive by Chris and his RC Concepts powered Mugen MBX7r Eco!
Rich Price was debuting his Sworkz Evo II LE and also his Ielasi Tuned engine, and the package was working well. He managed pole in the B and a very fine 9th overall. Simon White was also on a roll with his Mugen, he managed a superb 10the overall just behind Rich. Simeon also found his pace, with some great rounds, putting him just ahead of Simon Davies and his RR8, both so close, with less than a second between them, with Simeon 19th and Si 20th. Andy and his Sworkz were only a few seconds behind them finishing 25th overall, his car pictured below.
First up in the C final we had Andy, Simeon and Simon Davies. Simeon had an issue and dint start the race leaving Andy and Simon to do battle. Andy had a brilliant race, he went from 8th with his Bullet powered Sworkz to battle for the bump, he managed a fantastic 4th. Simon drove hard in the midfield, eventually finishing 7th.
In the B final we had Rich Price on pole, and Simon just behind 2nd on the grid. They would have a great on track rivalry, similar pace and lines, Rich pulled away and took a fine win and the bump to the A, a great start with the new ride for Rich. Simon also managed a great finish of 3rd, narrowly missing the final bump spot.
Onto the A final, Chris and Rich representing! Both drivers were off the line quick and Rich managed a few places, he went on to drive a blinder and finished a very fine 5th. Chris also had a great race, he was at the pointy end the whole race and only due to a small glitch on the line he finished 3rd. A great end to the day! Well done to Chris on another podium.
Down at Pembrey in south Wales we had Ben Billing and Milan Dragojlovic – on the newly refurbished dirt track.
Ben running his Nova Rossi powered Sworkz put in a fine display and came in 3rd for the finals. Milan and his Kyosho MP9 was on point as always, he got the TQ, with a tremendous fastest lap of the day. They would both be fighting for the win in the A final on the grippy, fast track. Ben had a great final bringing the Sworkz home in 4th. Milan had an awesome race, his MP9 looking at home on the dirt, after a great battle with the other top racers he managed to bring home the win. Well done Milan on another TQ and win.
Another great weekend for the team! As always all the kits, engines, fuel, bearings etc are available from RCPB, check out the website or you can catch us trackside next week at the 1/8th national at the brilliant Kent track. We will be fully stocked with tyres, fuel, spares and accessories!
Until next weekend – EAT,SLEEP,RACE, REPEAT!!!!!!!!!
]]>This weekend it was back to some club racing for some of the RCPB team, at East Shrewsbury we had team boss Matt Box, Si Davies, Gary Gregory and Rich Price.(all pictured above)
Matt had a fantastic day with his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho Mp9, he qualified 5th in a decent field of over 30 racers. Si managed a steady quail and got 23rd overall. Gary and Rich similar in times also did very well, ending up 14th and 15th respectively . The track was changing the “old school” grass turning to dirt in the blazing sunshine, and it was a thirsty Track. Matts car is pictured below trackside in the pits.
The finals would be a challenge for some with engines needing fuel after 5-6 mins. First up we had Simon in the C final, he found his pace, going from 6th on the grid to 3rd, narrowly missing the bump with his Radiosistemi RR8. Gary and Rich were up next in the B final. Rich had a good go at the bump, driving very well but in a tough race finished 7th at the Buzzer, Gary from 6th on the grid with his Reds Powered RR8 V2, drove a blinder, He gained a couple of places and came home in 4th. Matt lined up 5th, he had a great first lap, straight into 3rd on the first corner, a good battle on track with 2nd place man meant the leader pulled away, but after the leader running out of fuel, he was now battling for the lead, he now had the advantage, as his Ielasi tuned engine needed one less pit stop, he took advantage, he managed to keep the 2nd place driver behind him with some great wheel to wheel action, and he took the impressive win by a few hundredths of a second. Great drive by the team boss - podium pictured below!!!
Over at ADUR Ashley Evans was running his Mugen MBX7r eco and his 1/10th Shortcourse Tekno Pictured below,
He took the TQ in both classes and went on to take the win in all the finals and legs - both classes as well (final pic. below). More stunning driving by Ashley on the sunniest day of the year! Long may the weather and his wins continue!
At Swindon we had Chris Lovell in his Mugen MBX7r Eco in their club series, he took a fine TQ in every round with his RC Concept Batteries powering him onto a clear 1st on the Grid. In the A final he went on to also take the win, ending up with a lap on the rest of the field. Another great drive by Chris.
Over at Telford Model Car Club it was Jamie and Tommy Hall at the Shortcourse Nats. In 4WD it was seriously competitive, in the end it came down to an epic yet respectful battle between Jamie and Lewis Williamson, Jamie just pipped it on count back!
In 2WD, Jamie and Tommy were overjoyed with clinching the "best of the rest" with second and third respectively (podium pic below). Massive well done to both boys who simply have an RC wisdom above their years and a credit it to the team!
More racing next weekend for the guys but in the meantime check out our facebook page and website for all the latest offers and products, all the team run products available from us so why not check it out.
EAT<SLEEP<RACE<REPEAT – until next raceday!!!
]]>At Nene Valley on Sunday and Monday it was the Nemo sponsored NitroXCross series, and a strong team of Jon Griffiths, Steve Shakespere, Matt Box (car pictured above in the pits), Milan Dragojlovic, Ben Billing, Rich Price, Si Davies, Elliot Jones, Andy Prosser, Gary Gregory, Shaun Stenson and Alex Page were representing the team in Nitro and Chris Lovell in Electric.
Chris Lovell and his RC Concepts powered Mugen MBX7r Eco did great both days with some great qualifying. He managed 2 2nd in rounds eventually clinching 4th on the grid on Sunday. He drove fantastically in near perfect conditions to a stunning 2nd place in the final. On Monday the Mugen coped well with the changeable conditions and he qualified a great 2nd but had an incident in the warm up of the final and couldn’t continue. Another great performance by Chris who once again managed great points for the series and another podium - pictured below.
In Nitro on Sunday Simon and his RR8 and Andy and his Sworkz ended qualifying with Simon 54th and Andy 55th, Elliot and his Sworkz had a fine qualifying and ended up a superb 36th overall, just ahead of RR8 driver Shaun Stenson in 32nd. Alex was next with 27th overall with his Kyosho MP9 and Ben and Rich also did well both having some great rounds, Ben ending up 25th with his Nova Rossi Powered Sworkz Evo 2 LE, after some issues earlier in the day and Rich 21st and in fine form. Gary Gregory and his Radiosistemi was just ahead of Rich in 20th. At the top end of board on Sunday we have Jon and Steve neck and Neck on points but Jon just pipped Steve with on countback to 8th, with Steve 9th. Team Boss Matt Box had a fantastic day with the third fastest time of the day securing a very impressive 3rd overall and Milan as always the top of the RCPB drivers in 2nd on the grid!
Andy and Si were in the E final, and Andy showed his pace with his new Bullett powered Sworkz buggy gaining some places and finishing a very fine 5th. Simon also had a decent run and ended up 9th as the buzzer went. Alex, Shaun, Elliot and Ben were up next in the C final – dominated by Ben from start to finish, he took the lead and went on to have a lap on the entire field at the end, with Elliot also having a cracking race going from 12th to 9th, shortly followed by Alex in 12th and Shaun in 15th in a very competitive field! Ben continued his fine run with another great drive from the back of the pack, his Nova Rossi sound perfect as he took the lead again, Rich also had a good final ending up 5th just missing the bump to the A final and Gary and his Reds powered RR8 finished 11th. Onto the A, and 5 out of the 15 were RCPB drivers. Milan and Matt were at the head of the pack for along time, when Milan managed to get the overtake done in the pits, he later suffered a problem and dropped back, with Matt taking the lead again but he was just pipped by the eventual winner Mike Lewis, finishing a very fine 2nd (pictured below). Matts MP9 looked stunning and his Lelasi Tuned engine was awesome all day!
Ben once again was right on pace and finished a suerb 5th after 2 bumps, Milan ended up 8th with Steve 11th and a rear problem for Jon meant he finished 15th.
Another great final and good day for the team!
Onto the Monday and the changeable weather would have its effect! Milan was once again on fire with his Ninja powered Mp9, and took TQ in every round, Matt once again had a stunning day making 5th overall but Rich had an even better day with his Sworkz, sticking it in 9th overall! Alex also returned to form with his MP9, securing 11th, Gary was also on the pace and ended up 15th overall, just in front of Steve in 18th with his Reds powered MP9, Shaun was 26th, Elliot 28th.Simon Davies had a much better day bringing his Radiosistemi in 39th, Andy was 52nd. And in Electic Chris Lovell and his Mugen were also on form again, taking a TQ in round 4 giving him 2nd on the grid for the finals.
Andy Prosser once again had a great final, battling for a bump until the end when he just missed out in 6th in the E final. Si Davies had an unfortunate incident and had to retire in the D, The C final had to be run after a timing error and so it was a gruelling final in the end, but Shaun Stenson made it stick as the bad weather came in, getting from 4th to 2nd and taking the bump to the B (pictured below).
Elliot retired and finished 12th after an excellent day with his Nova powered Sworkz. In the B we now had Shaun, Gary and Steve all battling for the Bump. Gary had a great race, his RR8 V2 handling the now miserable conditions perfectly, he secured his bump in 2nd by 4s. Steve and Shaun didn’t have the best luck in the rain finishing 11th and 14th respectively. Onto the A Nitro final, and once again 5 RCPB drivers, Rich unfortunately didn’t start, but Alex, Matt and Gary did, all now struggling with the grip levels. Gary ended up 8th after a fine drive, Matt 9th and Alex 13th, but the start of the team in Nitro was Milan who battled hard for 25mins, taking home a well deserved 2nd spot! Chris unfortunately also didn’t start his final in the Electric. So the weather took its toll on the team but a very fine performance by all at the Nene.
Over at Hinkley on the grass it was theWest Mids Reginal in 1/10th 2wd. We had Mark Fletcher and Felix De Hamel with their Schumachers, Chris Ely, Tommy Hall and Jamie Hall with their Xray Xb2s representing the team. Mark was on fire, getting in the top 5 in two rounds and ended up 4th overall – awesome bit of driving from Mark. Felix was showing real pace again and finished a very good 19th overall. Jamie and Tommy once again looked very impressive with their Xb2’s both having a top 5 finish in a round, they were 21st and 24th respectively. Team Boss Chris also put in some good times, finishing 70th in a very tough field of over 100 drivers.
In the A final in all 3 legs “Fletch” did fantastically, holding his own with some of the top drivers in the country, he got a 7th, 10th and 5th leaving him 7th overall the heats. A great day for fletch and his Schumacher (his car pictured below on the grid of the final).
In the G final Chris drove a blinder and took the win by 0.5s after starting 10th. Up in the C final were Jamie and Tommy Hall, Jamie the highest qualifying U13 started on pole and made it stick, having a great race to finish 2nd with Tommy finishing a very fine 8th. Felix had a tough B final with a good amount of top quality drivers in the mix, he drove superbly and finished a respectable 10th -his car pictured below in full flow.
Well done to all the guys, some great drives once again by all the Team.
At the SRS down at Herts (track pictured above) we had Rich “Kong” Mckenzie, and Ashley Evans. Ashley had a fantastic day with his Mugen MBX7r Eco, he had some stunning rounds which gave him 9th overall. Kong had a mixed day. His Mugen was on point, showing real pace, he qualified 26th and Pole in the C final. Unfortunately some uncharacteristic problems meant he dropped back to 13th. Unlucky Day for Kong, but some good qualifying by both drivers! Kongs car pictured below.
At another regional this time again in 1/10th George Miller , and his 2wd Sworkz had a great day as well, he qualified in the C final and took a convincing win at the East England regional in Colchester. George showing great consistency to take a good win! (Pictured below)
So all in all a fantastic roundup for the RCPB team at the different regional’s this weekend – most will be racing again next week so stay tuned for another report soon!
All of the guys and gals in the team race and run lots of different cars and kits that are all available through the website. We are a friendly bunch so if you ever see our logo on a t-shirt, go over and say hello.
Remember EAT< SLEEP<RACE<REPEAT!!!
]]>It’s fair to say that the time had mixed results in their qualifying sessions. The Kent track is technical and can catch you out if you drop focus or get unlucky. They all came through qualifying with cars in tact and ready for the finals. The overall qualifying results are below.
First up we had Gary Gregory in the E Final. Gary drove super smooth with his converted RR8 bringing it home in 2nd spot and a bump up.
Next was Gary (again) and Ashley Evans. Gary had a super start going from 12th up to 3rd. Unfortunately his race was cut short due to a lipo issue but Ashley – using his Mugen MBX7R Eco cruised into 3rd spot and a bump up.
Next was the final of finals – the C final! This final had four of the five representatives in it. Steve with his TLR 4.0e starting 2nd, Chris and his Mugen MBX7R Eco 8th, George and his Sworkz 10th and Ashley from 13th. This was a hectic race which eventually saw Steve bump up to the B – finishing in third. Chris missed the bump up by 2 seconds, finishing in fifth after an altercation with a marshall’s foot. George and Ashley finishing 11th and 8th respectively.
After Steve had bumped up to the B, he knew he had pace. Unfortunately a shock issue prevented any further progression finishing in 12th. Well done guys - the next ebuggy national is @herts in a few weeks, where they guys will be back to ebuggy action! Pictured below Ashley with his car and all the other RCPB cars at Kent! Top right is Steves, Middle right is Chris's, Bottom right is George's, middle bottom is Gary's.
Elsewhere we had some more 1/8th racing @ Ledbury with Andy Prosser, Simon and Simeon White, Simon Davies and Ben Billing. All the guys know the track and it showed with all of them in the top 12. Andy made a great 12th, Simon Davies 8th and Simeon White 9th respectively, Simon White had a blinding qualifying and eventually eneded up 4th for Si and his Mugen MBx7r and 2nd by less than a second was Ben Billing and his very impressive looking Sworks/Nova Rossi Combo.
All drivers would be in the top 2 finals but up first was Simeon, Andy and Simon Davies. Andy had an unfortunate issue early on which meant he had to retire but Simon an Simeon were going to battle to the line. Simeon managed to pull out a small lead from Simon and the young man went on to take a massive win, bumping up into a very competitive A final for the very first time. Simon finished an impressive 2nd with his Radiosistemi RR8.
So onto the A final and Simon and Simeon White and their Mugen's, and Ben with his Sworkz were going for it. Simeon was getting faster and pushed for the whole 20min final, he gained 2 great places and finished 6th! a very impressive drive by another RCPB young gun! Ahead his Dad battled to a fine 4th place but Ben got the overtake done and took the win in fine style, by over 20seconds. Another great win for Ben and RCPB.
as always the guys use cars/kit and fuel etc all available through RCPB. Check out the website and if you cant find what you need let us know.
EAT, SLEEP, RACE, REPEAT!
]]>
In the Short Course Nationals we had Jamie Hall who had a storming Day and took 2nd overall in both 2wd and 4wd. A stunning drive by the youngster in both classes, to take 2nd on the podium 2x. Jamie is rapidly becoming a top driver for the team with his brother and this year has started brilliantly.
In 1/10th we had Felix De Hamel and both his Schumacher cars at the nationals at Kidderminster Car club, with all 4 seasons in one day on Saturday Felix struggled but on Sunday he was back on form, with a superb 20th and 28th in the last 2 rounds securing him 32nd overall and 2nd in the D final.
He was also top U16 in 2wd, another amazing drive by an RCPB young gun! He drove a blinder and retained his 4th, a fantastic drive by Felix.
Attending the SRS we had Ashley Evans and his MBX7R Eco at South Coast. The sun was shining down south and Ashley was in fine form, his car pictured below ready to get started. He qualified 6th in a tough field of racers but battled hard and took 4th, just missing the podium.
At Swindon we had the first of the Summer NitroXcross Series, a full turnout of drivers for the event. The indifferent weather made the track tricky but with 2 days of racing the RCPB would get to “grips” and manage some great results.
Saturday was round one – in electric we had Chris Lovell and his MBX7R Eco, he managed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in round and qualified 3rd on the grid. In Nitro we had Rich Price, Elliot Jones, Steve Shakespeare, Jon Griffiths, Matt Box, Andy Prosser, Alex Page and Simon Davies. Andy found some pace at the end with his bullet powered RR8 with a very good 41st in round 4, this put him 55th overall. It was very close between Elliots Sworkz and Simons RR8, with Simon just placing ahead of Elliot in 34th, and Elliot 35th overall. Rich Price had a cracking day and managed a 13th in round 3, putting him 25th overall. Alex and his Kyosho MP9 started unlucky but finished with a 7th in round showing he has the pace, he ended up 17th overall, Steve also managed a very impressive 9th in round 2 and qualified 13th just missing the A final. Matt and Jon qualified in the A with some great driving in very competitive heats and very close times with Matt and his MP9 10th and Jon and his fine looking AE in 6th.
In the finals Andy was up first and took the lead early on, which he retained but unluckily then slipped to 4th as the buzzer went just missing the bump. Another good drive from Andy!
Elliot was pole in the D and took advantage having a great run, bring the car home in top spot, bumping straight into the C with Rich. His Sworkz/ Nova Rossi combo looked and sounded fantastic as he won by a massive 15second margin. Great Work! So Elliot and Rich were in the C, Rich was 3rd on the grid and he battled hard but with some very good drivers in the final he missed the bump and finished a very respectable 8th, Elliot was now on fire and managed to get his Sworkz from 12th to 10th where he finished. Well done both!
We had Alex and Steve up next , Steve was 2nd on the grid and after a great battle that’s where he finished, getting the bump into the A with his reds powered MP9. Alex started 6th and after a fantastic race he ended up finishing 7th. On to the A with now Shakey, Jon and Matt! Jon was the top RCPB driver in 6th and he continued his fine form with a great 5th, with the top 4 so dominant and so far ahead of the following pack this was a brilliant result for Jon. Matt had a great start from 10th on the grid gaining a couple of places and finishing only 1/3 of a second behind 7th with a more than respectable 8th finish with his Ielasi Tuned powered kyosho. Shakey ended up 13th.
Chris Lovell and his Mugen started 3rd and in a very competive field of racers he would battle hard for his 2nd place finish. Another great result for Chris in 2016! His car is pictured below.
A great days racing for the RCPB guys and gals for round one – round two was Sunday and some more RCPB faces would be competing. Sunday saw Simon and Simeon White as well as Ben Billing and Kong McKenzie take to the track for RCPB. The cold start would turn into a beautiful spring day with the sun and the Mini Pins out!
Chris Lovell took a great TQ with his MBX7r Eco in the electric class, with 2 first in qualifying. He would be hard to catch in the finals with his pace on the ever drying astro!
In top spot in nitro after qualifying we had Ben Billing and his Sworkz/Nova Rossi combo showing his amazing consistency and solid speed to take 5th overall. Next up it was Matt and Alex and Shakey and the battle of the MP9’s, all having great qualifiers and so close over the 4 rounds, Matt was 9th overakk, Alex 10th and Steve (car pictured below in action from Drizzle RC Photos) 11th. Kong also had some stead qualifying and ended up in the B final with a great 20th overall, good going since it was his first visit to the track! Jon was up next with 22nd overall after some radio issues, but he would be back up to speed in the finals with his AE!
Rich Price had another decent qualifying and pulled out a 15th in round 1, confirming he has the pace to compete at this level, he ended up 29th overall at the end of 4 rounds. Simon White also put in some great times and ended up 32nd. Elliot was 40th, Si Davies was 46th after engine issues, and Andy 58th, with young 64th.
Simeon and his Mugen was up first in the F final with Andy P, Simeon flew off the line having a great race and gained some good places finishing a very good 7th, Andy was in fine form and continued to get quicker through the final resulting in a very good 3rd and a well deserved bump into the E final. This meant Andy and Si Davies would battle it out in the E. Si was pushed back from the start but drover brilliantly to get most of the places back finishing 5th as the buzzer went, Andy continued his great pace and ended up10th also gaining 3 places from his starting position – great drive by both guys!
In the D final we had Elliot lining up 7th – he had an awesome race, with some good overtakes and finished a very respectable 4th just missing the bump with his Sworkz. In the C we had Rich, and another solid drive by him also resulted in a few places being gained, finishing 7th. In the B we had Kong and Jon. Both drove the wheels off their buggies, and in the very tough B final they both managed some great racing, Kong finishing 5th after starting 9th and Jon very impressive again 4th after starting back in 11th. Brill drive guys, both narrowly missed the bump to the A.
With Ben, Matt, Alex and Steve in the A it was all hands on deck and they all had some great battles in the 25min A main. Ben as always banging in some great laps on the tricky track, He took RCPB top honours with a very fine 6th, Matt showed his consistency by starting and finishing 9th, with Steve 11th and Alex 12th. All had a great final. Well done Nitro Lads!
Now it was Chris Lovells turn in the electric Class, and his TQ had him pole ahead of a fine field of racers. He had some great on track battles with some of the quick drivers and went over the line as the buzzer went with Mick Butler, it was down to hundredths of seconds as they crossed side by side, but Chris managed the win. A great drive again by Chris and his RC Concept Powered Mugen.

]]>At Oswestry Model Car club we had some more 1/10th action, this time in 4wd we had Chris Ely, Tommy Hall, Jamie Hall and Felix De Hamel. Felix and his Schumacher were on a roll after a great result last week at the regional in Telford, he managed a 9th in round one and a 6th overall in round 2 which gave him a fantastic overall of 10th after qualifying. A great bit of driving from the young man in his Qualifying in a very tough and competitive field! Jamie and Tommy both running Xray also had some stunning runs and ended up 17th and 19th respectively. Chris also running his XB was 27th overall after quail.
In the Finals, Felix had managed the A and finished a superb 8th, amazing result, Tommy and Jamie made the B final and also finished a fantastic 2nd and 5th. The youngsters showing Team Boss Chris Ely how it’s done, with Chris in the C final and finished 8th(despite having man flu). Great display of driving by all the 1/10th crew. But driver of the Day in 1/10th has to be Felix - his car pictured below!
At Swindon Model Car club, we had Chris Lovell and his MBX7R eco at the first round of their summer series and in a mixed field of nitro and electric he made 3rd in the A final after a tough qualifying with some very good drivers. He made the most of his good qualifying and brought the car home in 4th, great start to the series, and some great track time at next weekend’s NitroXCross Venue!
The majority of the RCPB 1/8th Crew were at Deerdale for the first Nitro national of the year. The bumpy, uneven, tricky track made for some mixed qualifying for the Team. Milan Dragojlovic and his Kyosho MP9 TKi3 had some problems in the early rounds but pulled it back with an amazing 13th in round 5, showing the pace was there, he qualified 3rd in the ¼ finals B side, Kong McKenzie also had a great days quali' and got himself to 10th in the 1/4A side with his RC Concept Powered Mugen MBX7R. Matt Box and Ben Billing both also had some fantastic quali runs and planted their buggies in the B 1/8ths, with Bens Sworkz just ahead of Matts MP9 on the grid - Matts car pictured below. In the 1/64A we had Gary Gregory Radiosistemi RR8 V2, Rich Price Xray and Elliot Jones Sworkz who qualified 5th, 1st and 3rd respectively, in the 1/32 A we had Alex Page who qualified 2nd with his MP9. It was going to be hectic in the finals with the team scattered in the seeding.
1st up in the finals were Gary, Rich and Elliot. They all had a great start and Rich ran out into the lead from his pole, holding firm until the buzzer taking the win and the bump up. Gary also managed a steady star and with some impressive overtaking managed to get to 3rd and a bump, Elliot in his first national was no slouch either, he battled for the bump, eventually just missing out finishing 5th after the 20 mins.
Alex was up next, taking 2nd on the grid and with a fantastic bit of driving easily took first where he finished, taking another bump up for the team. Rich and Gary now in the 1/32A flew off the line, after a rather messy start by the guys high up the grid and some good fortune they saw themselves once again both battling for the bump. Gary drove his RR8 V2 extremely well, and managed another fantastic bump, ending up 3rd, and Rich just missed the 2nd bump showing his pace was good, finishing a very tidy 5th in his first national – another great debut!
It was Alex up again next in the 1/16B, another good start and great drive by Mr Page also saw him battling for a double bump, he made some great moves up the field, finally showing that the Bullett Engine had some power, blazing from 11th to finish 5th and 2 seconds off the final bump place.
Ben and Matt next and in a tough final with some very good drivers it would be a battle to the line for the pair of them. Matt and his Lelasi tuned engine were on fire, and quickly progressed up the field as did Ben and his Sworkz/Nova combo, both having a great drive in the final, Ben managed a fine drive to take 2nd and Matt after some great fortune took the last bump from a driver who cut yards before the line. Both making it to the ¼’s in style! They bumped into the same final that Milan was in so it would be all hands on deck for the top boys. Kong also had an eventful final, making good headway showing the real power of the RC Concepts which was great all weekend, he unfortunatly had to retire due to a radio issue but a semi is on the cards soon for him and his Mugen Buggy! His car pictured below ready for his final.
Milan flew just like in his last round of qualifying, his Ninja not missing a beat, and he easily progressed to the semis and stood a good chance of progression to the Main if his pace was anything to go by. He took the win by 5seconds. Ben and Matt both had some bad luck and although they both battled in the midfield, Matt had to retire and Ben finished the race with 3 shocks, but none the less a great bit of racing from both guys to bring home 11th and 12th, both one stopping and both showing their is definably more to come this year!
Milan raced very well in his semi, making great progress through the field and for a lot of the time racing in a bump up place. An unfortunate lap meant he dropped back but he battled hard and still managed to 10th. A great end to a great weekend of racing for the Nitro guys! Well done to them all bring on the next round on the Dirt of Kent.......
