This weekend the RCPB team were out in force again all over the UK and at Summer Finals time lots of places and prizes up for grabs.

At ESBRC at the Shrewsbury dirt track we had Team Boss Matt Box and his Ielasi Tuned powered Kyosho MP9 along with Rich Price and his Sworkz machine. Also in attendance was Graham Alsop running his Maxima MX Motor. After 4 rounds of quail it was Graham on top of the pile with Matt just behind in 2nd, Rich managed 6th. Nice work by the guys to all get in the top ten!

All three drivers made it straight into the A final, Rich had a great start and finished a very impressive 7th, Matt was at the front of the pack jostling for a podium place, he had a great run meaning he would come home 3rd and Graham was out in front and checked out early on taking the win by some margin. Another win for the MX motor! The 3rd place finish on the day meant that Matt had the points to win the Summer series. Taking home the Trophy and Prizes kindly donated by Absima!

At Stotford it was the 1/10th off-road formula finals. Lots of guys for RCPB at this event, a great track and superb facilities greeted our team. Day one was 4wd on Saturday, and in F2 we had Felix De Hamel and his Schumacher and Mark Fletcher also running his Schumacher, in F3,4,5 we had Steve Ibbotson running Schumacher, Chris Ely, Tommy Hall and Jamie Hall all running XRAY. With 4 rounds of qualifying it was all to play for and the whole team did amazingly. Felix got 8th overall in F2 after 2 very impressive 5th in rounds, Mark got 19th.

In the F3,4,5 it was Tommy who had the best set of qualifiers, he was amazing getting 2 4th in rounds and taking 5th overall. Steve, Jamie and Chris were also not far behind; they were 10th, 12th and 13th respectively after some outstanding qualifying. All drivers making the top 12 in their respective formulas – a great achievement!

In F2’s after a great 3 legs in the finals Felix finished a massively impressive 5th. Mark was in the B final and he stared 9th on the grid a great 5 mins of racing saw him get up to 5th and he stayed there, finishing 5th. Chris and Jamie both made the B final in the F3,4,5’s. With Jamie 2nd and Chris 3rd on the grid it would be a great team battle, Chris came home an impressive 4th and Jamie 7th. In the A final Steve and Tommy both had a fantastic 3 legs of racing, Steve managed an overall 9th but Tommy after an amazing win of leg 3 finished an unbelievable 4th overall – not bad for an U13!!!! A huge achievement by the whole team and especially the youngsters who did so well!

On Sunday and 2wd the same drivers were at it again, In the F2 class Mark managed 11th and Felix 16th overall after some more stunning qualifying in some changeable weather conditions. In the F3,4,5’s Tommy was once again top in Qualifying, getting a massively impressive7th in round 1 getting him 12th overall. Steve Ibbotson also was flying on and got a brilliant 4th in round 1, getting him 14th overall, Chris Ely got 26th, Jamie got 33rd.

Felix and Mark both made the B final, Felix started 6th and he was flying, coming home in a brilliant 2nd place, just behind Mark who took the pole and win. Steve and Tommy made the B final in the F3,4,5 class and Steve came home 10th, but once again the Youngster Tommy had a brilliant drive coming home 4th. Chris made the C final coming home 9th and Jamie came 2nd in the D final.

A massively impressive weekend for the 1/10th team, a great season and some fantastic driving by all of the guys! We know 2017 will be an amazing year with this great team.

At Ledbury it was the final round of the summer series, At Ledbury we had Nathan Powney, Si Davies, Si White and Simeon White and Chris Lovell. The Ledbury team had done a great job on the track that was in tip top condition.

After 4rd of Qualifying, Nathan and his Bullett powered Losi 4.0 sat 2nd, Simon White and his Mugen MBX7r got a very good 4th. Si Davies got 10th with his Radiosistemi, Chris Lovell and his Ielasi Tuned Powered Losi 4.0 got 5th and Simeon and his Ielasi powered Mugen got 20th.

First up was Simeon in the C final, he started 5th on the grid, but drove a blinder and he took a very impressive win and the bump to the B final. He joined Simon Davies he started 3rd. Simon had a great and constistant 20mins and came home in 3rd and Simeon had managed to get from the back of the grid up to 5th. Another fantastic drive by the young Mugen driver!

Up to the A final and Nathan, Simon W and Chris would be battling out for a podium. All had decent starts, Chris having an issue and returning to the pits but after a small time he was back out and finished the race 7th. Simon and Nathan were both settled in the midfield and Nath finished 5th just 0.5s behind Simon in 4th. A great A final from the guys! As it was end of the series it was trophy time.

Nath won the series and Simon W came 2nd. Andy P finished 11th overall, and Si Davies got a very good 7th in the series. A great series for the guys at Ledbury and some top finishes by the lads. Well done all.

And last but not least at Adur was Ashley Evans. At the start of the day the track was wet but drying which made it difficult with tyre choice so his first 2 heats he was off pace but once the track was pretty much dry he was back on pace taking 2 round wins. He took TQ in both E-buggy and SC and then won both finals by a lap in SC and 2 laps in e-buggy. A top finish to this week’s racing by Ashley!

As always all of the cars and kit that the guys use is available from RCPB and we are a nice bunch so if you need a hand trackside just ask one of the team. Next week we will be Eat, Sleep, Race, Repeat! Next weekend we are at the final round of the Nemo Nitroxcross Summer series, with shop and trackside support, check out next week’s reports for how the team have done and much more!
